What if China attacks Taipei?

Just food for thought here…

What is the forum’s opinions if China moves to take back Taiwan/Taipei? They are building a navy for what purpose? They are not coming to the US. They ain’t attacking Europe, India, nor South America. They are more than likely about to force their leadership on the SEATO alliance, namely Taiwan, Japan, Korea Philippines. If they attack Taiwan, what do y’all think we are going to do? Sit back and watch it on whatever is left of CNN?

probably institute similar economic and diplomatic sanctions like we are on Russia.

China's economic and military status basically guarantees we wont actually go to direct was with them over Taiwan.

Sadly, with the Wimp in Washington cutting defense spending in relation to his inflation we'll do nothing but bluster. I don't think the Communist Chinese will wait until America elects a stronger leader. Their window of opportunity is now, while Biden's handlers are in control of things.

China has this country by the short hairs.  Industries in this country are dependent on China’s money, China is buying up farm land in the US, they have infiltrated our higher educational system and have made a public announcement about changing 100 years of history with an alliance with Russia.  They have sat back and watched the US make decision after decision that has weakened our economy and the ability to defend ourselves.

America is as weak as we have ever been.  We have poured money in aiding Ukraine in a piece meal fashion because we are afraid of what Russia might do all while inflation is at a 40 year high.  Our administration is focused on a woke military and has had a war on toxic masculinity so much so our military recruitment is at an all time low.  We can not afford a war on two fronts.

So, to answer your question:  of course we will just watch it on CNN.  We have lost the illusion of the world’s superpower.  All in the two years Biden’s been the *leader of the free world*.  All this division and focus on frivolous woke issues has cost America.  We have reaped what we have sowed.

Also DKW, this is alot of peoples thoughts on why China might try to go in, and why the US might not be keen to just chill and watch. Taiwan is a world leader in creating these chips, and decided to work with USA to hobble China and keep them behind in technological advancements.

Likely don a semi automatic AR that fires 2000 rounds per minute and has "Battle Rifle" written in crayon on the side,  and start handling business. ;)

Hold a press conference about how much more the United States is going to reduce domestic oil production and thus become the greenest nation on earth. Also inform us of the government's next step in wokeness, inclusion, pronoun use and equity regulations.

Biden: "China? Where is that?" Where do I exit this stage?"

More than being militarily prepared to stop this from happening, we need to focus on being economically prepared to make it too costly for China to undertake.    U.S. Industry has to move production out of China.  That doesn't require that they move all production back to the U.S., but they need to move production of critical items to North America, the Phillippines or another country well within our sphere of influence.  It is critical that the U.S., Europe, Brazil, & India speak with a unified voice to the greatest extent possible.  That will force China to consider the consequences to their actions.  Currently, the only unified voice comes from the 5 eyes (U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand & Canada), Japan, & North Korea.  Japan has to continue being encouraged to build their military readiness and not depend solely on U.S. protection.

No one outside China really knows how good the Chinese military is.   They have nukes, which is enough by itself.  We continue to arm Taiwan and keep US forces nearby

China has been obsessed for the last 74 years with taking over Taiwan.  They never give up.

ironically the Republic of China still controls 3 small groups of islands only a few miles off the coast of the mainland.   Red China has not tired to take those islands in the last 70 years.

If China attacks Taiwan we have to stand up to them if nothing more than call their bluff. Taiwan, formerly Formosa, has been a long time ally. If we don't support them China will just keep on until we do stand up to them. I don't think they want that. JMHO.
