bubivey 0
Good morning all, I want to ask a favor from all of you. As I have been traveling all over our great country, I have met many nice people. Some live close by while others live far away. I do not get to see these people all of the time, but I do think of them often and phone them occasionally. I have developed many deep friendships with these people. These people are of many different faiths. All of the ones I have met are Christians and have professed or discussed their faith to me some time during of our relationship. The believe in God! They believe in His Son! I ask for each of you to please say a short prayer for everyone that was touched by Hurricane Katrina. My recent trip to Colorado white water rafting, my guide is from New Orleans. He resides there during the winter months. One of my high school buddies lives in Memphis area. He may have taken some excessive weather related pressures this week. One of my dearest friends and his family live in Mobile. I finally got through to him today. He and his family are worn out, without power, but otherwise fine. No power for several days is forecast. One of the companies I represent has their home office in Daphne, Alabama, next door to Mobile. They are without power. I have several friends in Destin area. They are doing better today. These people have gone through life changing experiences. I experienced this change during the Flood of 1994. I am deeply touched when I see the videos, pictures of the devastation and flooding happening right now around the Gulf of Mexico. The things you think are so important have very little meaning when a life comes into play. The memorabilia can never be replaced. You can create more memories. When a life is taken, the life is forever gone as we know it on earth. The death toll keeps rising as crews work the devastated areas. Someone's mother, father, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, grandparent, or friend may not be with us today due to this hurricane. I live in a beautiful part of the United State of America, not far from mountains or the beaches. I have been blessed with a good church to worship, a good wife, good jobs, beautiful/healthy kids, a nice home where I feel secure at all times, good friends, and many other things that at some point I forget about and take for granted. Please take just a few moments and say a prayer. For those that are in need and for the blessings you have been given. Let's don't pray just in time of need. Let's pray and give thanks for the many things we have. Prayer works. I have experienced it firsthand. Four things I try to get accomplished very day in my world: 1. Pray and give thanks that I have another day. 2. Teach someone something new. 3. Learn something new from someone. 4. Make someone laugh or smile. Try it, you may like it. In Christian Love to all. TitanTiger 21,581
Welcome, bubivey. Just to let you know, we try to keep the Football Forum on the subject of Auburn football or football in general. I've moved this thread to "All Things Considered" which is our general discussion forum. Please use this forum in the future for more general discussion type posts. Thanks and War Eagle! Tiger in Spain 0
Prayers sent, bubivey. I have personally experienced healing through the power of prayer and readily admit I don't do it as often as I should.
