TigerMom 0
I enjoyed coming to AU this weekend. I got to see BOTH of my kids, meet up with friends at our tailgate, sit in the comfort of our old seats among the same familiar faces. I enjoyed singing the National Anthem in beautiful harmony with those around me (several music people in one place!). I enjoyed time away from my work and home. This week has been one of the hardest weeks in our Nation's history. Our own people have suffered greatly. I have been moved by the photos and stories from the Gulf Coast. That is my home. I lived in Kenner, LA, Jackson, MS, Mobile, AL, and Panama City, FL. at some point in my life. New Orleans was our honeymoon destination and a favorite vacation spot. We went through Frederick in Mobile - just a small taste of what those folks went through last week. I think I may have gotton my prorities straight. I love AU football. Been a fan all my life. Last year was unbelievable - it would be hard to repeat the feeling all season. But, there is more to life than college football (duh). I am thankful we have that - I really enjoy it - but in the great scheme of things, losing to GaTech stung but it was just a little sting in the great scheme of things. I enjoyed seeing young men and women enjoying themselves on and off the field. I was happy for the diversion. Auburn football is the finest in the SEC. Our team is young, but we will be better. The game was a dissapointment, but my weekend wasn't. We'll be back next week!

autigeremt 7,260
Outstanding Post fellow Sandlapper (even if you are a transplant, hehe).... I was not able to go to the game due to being on standby for deployment to the Gulf Coast. I enjoyed watching the new addition of Auburn Football. We will be better for it in the end. You can't win all of them, and while I hate to lose to the Ga. Tech Yellow Jackets, I hate even more to see a Gulf Coast get demolished. Keep the faith!
