PowerI 0
Something I can't quite fathom; Why is Auburn paying a mediocre coach the amount of money that a quality program would pay an elite coach? Yeah, talk about last year all you want, but who couldn't win with an all pro backfield and a loaded defense? Tuberville is nothing more than an average coach and if it wasn't for Bobby Petrino three years ago, Gene Chizik and Al Borges last year, he would already be long gone. Another thing that really makes my blood boil is that he kept taking shots at Chizik when he left for Texas about how our defense got worse toward the end of the year and how he was going to get a better defensive coordinator. Well, the defensive coordinator you got Tommy sucks! We have two of the best defensive ends in the nation and top quality linebackers and we sack Reggie Ball one freaking time. Where was the pressure? I'm sure alot of the people on here are going to berate me for being so critical, well so be it. I was at that game last night and that was Bull Sh$*. BamaGrad03 0
Come on guys...you were all over tubby for being the greatest coach on the planet, he loses one game, and now he's mediocre? which is it? While he isnt the greatest coach in the nation, he DID just lead AU to its first undefeated season in 12 years. I think he's owed a little leeway on this year's team considering he lost 4 nfl starters.
AUbirdie 0
guys, you can't win every game. we played a very good, not great, but very good georgia tech team with a quarterback who has never started a game before and a running back who has one start in his career. you all are starting to sound like bama fans. i agree that we could have played better but we had five turnovers and still had a chance to win the game. dont be a fairweather fan. AUHansel 0
IT WAS ONE GAME! Give it a rest. I didn't think that the coaching did a very good job last night, but that doesn't mean that they aren't good coaches. Sorry if winning 15 games in a row isn't good enough for you. Did you want 13 more this season? This game isn't all that big in the end. We need to be trying to win a SEC title, not a National Title. We aren't as good as we were last season, but we will get better.

Well I guess we will start keeping track of moral victories this year. 178296[/snapback] now i know why we pay tubby 2.2 million a year. because noone else in their right mind would be able to coach a team with so many fairweather fans. i am just glad to know that some fans understand that 15 out of 16 games won is pretty damn good and losing 4 starters to the NFL will have a small affect on a team. i don't know if you have been watching college football for very long but this is the way it works. you build a program and good players get drafted. then you have to replace them with players that have little or no experience. then they learn from mistakes and hopefully get better and if they do the team will be back to where it was when the old players were there. it is called rebuilding. to see this in motion watch tapes from 2001 and 2002 when jason campbell was getting the first starts of his career. then watch tapes of him last year. you asked: Didn't Tubby keep saying that his was his most talented AU team ever??? yes he did, thats because he is one hell of a recruiter. he also said it is a very inexperienced team. AURaptor 1,137
I'm not for firing anyone, so there's no sense in talking about any of that..... but this wasn't just ONE game. This was the 2nd time Auburn has lost to GT. Auburn is suppose to have a better program. Period. There's no excuse for this. And it's not just 'one' loss. We saw a better team in Auburn play down to and below the level of its opposition. Auburn will face MUCH better on the schedule, and there's little reason to think we'll win those games. This was a game Auburn should have found a way to win. It won't have the luxury of having turned the ball over that many times and still win a game. Auburn will lose to LSU, UGA, Bamma and possibly one more team. Add those losses to losing to GT, and it all adds up to one crappy season. Sorry, but that's how it is. I didn't expect to go 13-0, but I did expect to beat a lesser talented Georgia Tech team at home, at night. And it just seems that Tuberville has a hard time out-coaching other decent coaches if he doesn't have a NFL backfield or a Thorpe winner. Without the NFL backfield and the Thorpe winner we still have a better team the Tech. And the defense is what disappoints me the most. Tuberville is supposed to know defense and we get ripped apart by Reggie Ball AGAIN!

PowerI 0
Isn't Marcus McNeil an all-American? Isn't Travis Williams All-SEC and on the verge of being named an all-American? Isn't Courtney Taylor on the list for the best receiver in the nation? Isn't Stanley McClover on the verge of becoming an all-American? Don't give me this crap that Georgia Tech has more talent. Georgia has some good players but not near the quantity of Auburn. You need to wake up and realize that you can't go 13-0 every season. We lost to GT. They are not a bad team by any means. We should have won that game but it is hard to not miss a beat when we lose the talent that we did. CTT is obviously not that good at starting the season off with a big game. We've seen that in the past and found that out last night. That doesn't mean that we will have a crappy season. It means that we will have to work hard to get better and win games. This was probably the third or fourth hardest game on our schedule, but that does not mean we will lose every hard game. Have some faith in our team. We have three easy games to get ready for South Carolina and the harder teams on our schedule. Brandon will get better and the team will mold together and learn how to be a team. Now all we need is the fans to not be so damn critical because we lose one game. Yes, we should have won, but you can't always do that. We have new players and they showed some promise. Don't give up because of one game. Or actually, go ahead and give up. We don't want fans like you here. IT WAS ONE GAME. You give up on Auburn and Auburn will give up on you.
