auman64 0
Everybody just calm down. I was at the game and I waited until now to post something because i didn't want a knee jerk post. 1st .. Anybody that thinks our program would be better to fire our coach is just not in touch with reality. Should Oklahoma fire Stoops? enough said.. 2nd.. This is a typical Auburn team.. For some reason we traditionally get stronger as the year goes on.. and we will this year. The team is talented.. they played hard.. they just made alot of mistakes and looked confused alot. Yes we were poorly prepared. But.. every coach has games like that. Whats important is to look at the film and correct the problems and get better. I bet we do. 3rd.. I think what gets everybody a little ticked off is this. We are used to a Dye or Jordan type coach.. What i mean by that is.. i simply wanted to hear Tubberville say on the post game show.. "This team wasn't prepared.. it was my fault.. i realize that and will correct the problem.." You won't hear that from him ever. Thats not his style. He mealy mouths and dodges that.. but that doesn't mean he doesn't recognize a problem. He brought in Borges last year because he recognized we had a problem and for the most part, our offense is as productive as most any. No they aren't perfect nor will they ever be. 4th.. Cox has alot of talent. He threw for over 300 yards in his first start. Not all of the interceptions were his fault. One he got hit as he threw it and another it appeared to me the receiver ran the wrong route.. In any event.. young qb's make mistakes. It was a little disspointing to me that we didn't ever really try to establish the run and take some pressure off of him, but i suspect that Borges had a reason for that and i trust his ability as a corrdinator. 5th.. Defensively.. the team played pretty well. They didn't give up much in the 2nd half and one touchdown they had to #21 .. they scored because he is simply a better receiver than anybody in America can cover. He's going to get one a game..period. Even with 5 or 6 turnovers.. whatever we had.. we had a chance to win the game until late in the 4th.. i thought that was pretty remarkable by the defense. Has anybody ever considered that maybe why we didn't pressure Reggie Ball alot was because he will kill you scrambling and if you rush him heavily.. he will squirt out and go streaking down the field? Watch teams defend Michael Vick. The last thing they do is pin their ears back and rush him hard. So..everybody chill.. have a little patience. Every coaching staff in America is going to have a bad game. I am sure most of you have a bad day at work occassionally and make some decisions you regret. This team has a chance to be a good team. Tigerclaws 0
Well said. For all you Tub bashers, take a pill. Brandon looked good just made a few bad choices.
