It's My Fault!

After reading this board for 2+ years and only posting like twice, I figured I should own up to our defeat last night. I am superstitous. Last year before everygame, I went to this little restaurant in Cullman and ordered the same thing every year and took it home to watch the game. I didn't do that this year guys and I'm so sorry. The restaurant was closed. I know it's not an excuse, I could've put it in the fridge and waited, but I didn't and it cost us the game. I don't really believe in bashing players. I'm sure they have and are now putting tons of pressure on theirselves without my help or anyone elses for that matter. So please, if you bash anyone bash me for not doing my pregame saturday ritual. It's my fault and I will not let it happen again. I'll even prove it to ya, before everygame, I'll post that I've recieved my order from the restaurant and you guys can rest easy and watch us win another game. Once again I apologize deeply and WAR EAGLE!!!

Thank you for owning up. While watching the game last night, I had this nagging suspicion that something wasn't quite right ... like that feeling you get when someone hasn't ordered the same pre-game meal. Now I know -- it was merkuree! The question now is, do you try to recapture the magic by going back to the same pre-game meal or will that just jinx AU for the rest of the year? Oh, decisions, decisions!

Downtown Grill! I get their Buffalo Chicken basket with ranch fries and a large sweet tea. Did it all last year and didn't do it last night! I jinxed 'em.

It was my fault too.

At the Auburn-USC game I wore a shirt that said "Jason Campbell for Heisman." Well apparently anthing JC I wear results in a loss cuz yesterday I wore my #17 away jersey. Also during the entire off season I was telling people how I had never been to a game in which we were losing a tight game and ended up losing (should've knocked on wood). I mean Ole Miss 2 years ago we switched leads. LSU last year, we ended up winning. Georgia 3 years ago we lost at the end. All the other losses we were destroyed in. That was the first time we were losing tight the entire game and ended up losing in the last 3 years. Florida 3 years ago could be an acception, but i wasn't there and we came back to tie it and lost in OT.

It is my wife's fault. We took delivery of her new blue Accord about 6 pm, and had the dealer install the Auburn tag before we drove to my brother's to watch the game...

So I guess I'm not the only Auburn fan that's superstitous. Thanks for making me feel a little better guys. Does anyone else have any rituals/sequnce of events/clothes they must wear that they didn't last night? This is like a superstitous AA meeting. So feel free to share and maybe it will help more people realize where they went wrong last night from last season and will be able to correct themselves. I know I will!!! War Eagle

I went to the game w/ my two sisters and there were bad omens all day. On the way down, the huge AU magnet we had on the hood flew off. Then we had to pull over twice b/c the car flags were coming off, then we tailgated at the Wesley Foundation next to an AC unit that said "Bryant". Then...let me catch my breath a sec.... then inside the stadium, the guy in Sec 1 Row 12 seat 1 puked all over the stairs and the guy sitting behind me in Sec 2 had to analyze & comment on every play to the lady he had brought along (you couldn't even hear Carl on the loudspeaker this guy talked so much). And for the cherry on top..I discovered that Auburn has a Phyllis from Mulga. Don't know her name, but she looked and acted just like her. She sat in front of me and apparently had had a few too many. So the loss actually wasn't the worst moment of that particular day.

Actually it was my fault..I wore my Auburn jewelry after the game started...I never do that because the last time I did they lost...sorry, but I had all of it off but my earrings, i forgot about them....
