We were still clsoe to winning. I never thought we would be behind.

I still consider :gt: a second tier at best ACC team. We should have beaten them twice now.

Dbs did look good with a great :gt: WR corps.

342 passing is still great news.

We moved the ball pretty well most of the night. We did move the ball. We just shot ourselves in the feet over and over. Penalties and TOs killed us.

Absolutely...Cox throws for the most yards EVER by a first time starter at AU. We had the go ahead TD taken away on a holding call when it was 10-7. Cox was pretty composed in the pocket. The "D" settled down as the game went on. Lot's of positives.

I put other. I liked the sparks of brilliance that I saw every now and then on O and D. Once this team starts clicking, watch out. We were often just a half step away from huge offensive plays, and the defense swarmed but needs to work on tackling. MSU will be a good tuning game as it will be a tough conference game, but not tough enough that we can't work on things. BS and WKU will polish the team up in time for USC. The team needs some discipline and slight realignment of positions and we'll be ok. The running game will get going in the next week or two, and we'll have a revolving door at that position again.

All of the above. This loss was not the result of a lack of effort, all players were hustling on the field. Penalties at crucial inopportune times and turnovers were killers. I don't think there was a lack of preparation on the part of players or coaches.

Now if they loose this week to Mississippi State, my attitude could change. :(

Really all of the above but if I had to pick one, we moved the ball very well but we killed drives with FS and holdings. Remember how bad the we struggled to move the ball against USC and GT in 03' without silly mental mistakes we had 2 more td's in this game, and its 28-23. WDE next week is another game.

Positives:

-Cox's throwing precision and arm strength are incredilble

-WRs, as the season progresses this will become a HUGE weapon for us.

-Special Teams, should have been on the list DKW, our return game was the best I have seen at AU. Aromashadu IMO, had the best game he has ever had, as returner and WR. Tre returned punts well.

-We moved the ball pretty well all night, but.....see below

Negatives:

- biggest mental mistakes by far-penalties, bad reads (not all necessarily by BC) hurt us the worst

-bad OL and DL play

-bad blocking by RBs

-poor tackling by LBs, mainly in first half

Feel free to add

The best thing that came from the Tech game is it shows us what we need to work on. Brandon looked good for the most part and now has some experience against a good blitzing defense. Brandon is only a soph and is getting better and gaining experience one game at a time. I think Brandon will end up being a great QB. I think are team will work harder in the practices and will come out with some energy and a chip on their shoulder's the rest of the season.

In retrospect, we didn't do all that bad with the running game. On 19 called running plays, tailbacks averaged more than four yards per carry and that includes the 10 yards that Tre lost when he tried to reverse field.I

The penalties that were called and those not called played a big outcome in the game.

The ACC officiating crew that worked the game and the holding call they made against center Steven Ross that wiped out a Cox touchdown pass to Courtney Taylor in the second quarter was marginal at best. The SEC policy is that such holding calls are not made if they have no impact on the play, and that one clearly didn’t.

The interference call that came later on the pass from Tech quarterback Reggie Ball was clearly uncatchable.

Also, the officials ignored two very obvious late hits on Cox.

TWO late hits?? I watched it for the 3rd time just now and there were two in the first qrtr alone....

#1:Cox lobbed one up for Taylor streaking down the near side..(CT.nearly tackled but no call)incomplete...COX hit by a blitzing LB from the left side...guy took at least 3 steps AFTER Cox released it...

REF LOOKS @ COX ON CAMER after COx complains and tells Cox,"No it wasn't late,BE QUIET!"

The head ref should be fired and the ACC should apologize for the SIX no calls in the game. THANK GOD COx is a tough kid or the season would be a total loss!

the announcers broght up how the refs were not protecting COx and making it a "priority" in the game SIX times for six late hits and ANOAI'S HIDEOUS LATE HIT AND FACEMASK!

"Personal foul, facemask against the return team. Personal foul facemask #90 against Auburn (no #90 or #9 Mix IN the play!!)" THAT WAS THE CALL ON THE first 4 qtr INT....

BOTH MARKED AGAINST AUBURN GIVING TECH A FREEBIE FG!!

Cox got hit late repeatedly and the Head@$$ ref told him to "Shut Up!"..

No wonder FSU and V Tech have so many thugs!! :puke: :splat: :splat:

Henderson blitzed up the middle in the 2nd qrtr hit COX helmet to helmet w/a forearm to boot and both announcers stated it should've been called and....

PROTECTING THE QUARTERBACK IS A PRIORITY!!!:no::no:

Sorry I expect Tubs to file a complaint....

we had 5 tos and still should've won!!

I liked Cox's toughness.

He was able to answer Ga Tech besides having a poor start himself. He stood in the pocket and didn't get happy feet, and he delievered the ball even though he knew he was going to take a hit. Kid didn't shy away from anything. The int's he threw didn't seem to negatively effect his play either (remember Campbell for example, if he made a bad play it would effect his game for series at a time). I didn't think after the first quarter that he ever looked lost, you expect some confusion in a new qb, but he didn't have a OMG Headlights look. Hell, how many 1st and longs did he overcome?

Bad start, Ints, late hits, miscues for first and longs that shouldn't have happened, Cox never folded.

Think we have a real leader developing due to the way that game went.
