Cheering too loudly

I invited one of my resident doctors to the game Saturday and he was ejected for cheering too loudly and disturbing the fans around him (he was in a sideline seat with old donors). He was not intoxicated and did not use profanity. He did however nicely explain to the officer that he was only exercising his 1st amendment rights and I am sure that is why he was ejected.

With the new TUF donation plan are we going to have a stadium full of fans who dont like to cheer and have fans who do ejected?

BTW I am a 73 grad but still like to cheer

That is unbelievable! Cursing, I can understand. Drunk I can understand. Getting in peoples face I can understand. But kicked out for being too loud at a football game????? I better shut up now!

I have sat next to the 'stiffs' a few times. Not very fun for a vocal fan like myself. They act like you should shut up the whole game and only golf clap when we score.

They weren't even cheering on 4th down when David Greene threw that famous pass to the endzone. I blame them for the loss... :moon:

Good thing WarTim wasn't in that section. He'd have gotten the boot before Carl Edwards said "We're just one hour away from the kickoff of tonight's game."

no wonder it was the quietest stadium i've ever been in. that crowd was a joke, and it can't be said enough times. our fans were louder when we played at tech.

I have heard louder people at a ballet. We (the crowd) need to get pumped up!! This Saturday I hope I hear a lot of screaming.

I was wondering why they didnt do what they did last year where they played the tiger growl and it said like get loud or make noise on the jumbotron.

the crowd was pitiful from the start saturday. it made me ashamed that the game was on tv. auburn fans could take a lesson from tennesee, lsu, alabama or even mississippi state.

If they did not like your Doctor friend for cheering too loud then they might have had to call in a paramedic after they got a load of my baby brother(38 year old). He was so loud last year at the Sugar Bowl I thought he would crack the dome.

If we are not supposed to cheer at the stadium I may prefer to stay at home and watch on TV.

Can they send the cheerleaders to my house? YYYYYeah Baby!!

I've sat next to people like that before at games too and have gotten dirty looks for being loud. I don't understand how you can watch the AUBURN TIGERS at Jordan-Hare Stadium and not be on your feet the entire time.

This is one reason I do not mind sitting in the upper deck. The people up there are probably just like me. Middle class people who just love Auburn Football. To them Cheering is not going to upset their stature in life. Don't get me wrong I think the people sitting 20 rows up on the 50 love Auburn but they do act like you should sit down the whole time and just clap.

If I win the one of those mega money lotteries I will buy up one section in the upper deck and take out the seats. If you are caught not cheering you will be escorted out. :D

I was in The student section and i noticed a few things that caused the crowd not to be as loud as we were last year. For one, Tiger only flew like 20 feet down from the south end zone, which was pretty lame compared to the way she used to fly. The Pre-game video was absolutely lame, either that video all over the internet wasnt ready or they chose the sh*ittiest one available. LAST, but not least, I would have to say that 90% of the Student section was drunk, and the majority of the crowd came in at least an hour before kick-off, meaning that by the end of the first quarter the majority of them looked hung over(first-hand experience), that is why i believe they should sell alcohol at JH, LOL :puke:

I got kicked out for "being too rowdy" in section 43 (opposite the student section). I respectfully pulled the officer aside and asked him what i had done, he replied "just be glad you didnt get arrested".

I was as loud as I could be on Saturday. I was in the upper deck on Auburn's sideline and it seemed to get almost dead quiet at times. That was when I would start trying to get loud and people would start cheering too. Too loud at an SEC FOOTBALL GAME! There is no such thing, it can only get louder which is better. I hope these stiffs weren't at the Georgia game last year. I can't wait until I am a student(hopefully) down there in 2007. Until then, WAR EAGLE!

I'm glad they cracked down on alcohol in the stadium. I had to deal with enough drunk AU fans around me, and drunk Tech fans above us (upper deck next to student section).

But, man, that trooper didn't take any crap, he went up top personally and "handled" the tech fans. lol

back in college we used to sit around the 40 yard line against the fence in the student section. i used to get the funniest looks from all the fluffy 'stiffs' at midfield. it was hilarious, but at the same time pissed me off because they had the best view in the stadium. man, how i miss those days of standing up and jumping around like an idiot.

speaking of standing, i about lost it with a fan behind me sat. nite. of course, everyone was standing for the opening kickoff and the first play of the game. ON THE SECOND PLAY OF THE GAME, this guy pokes me in the back and tells me to sit down. when i politely tell him the people in front of me are standing and i have to to see, he tells me to tell everyone in front of me to sit down. i was furious. anyways, his son (around 35 years old) apparently doesn't listen to his father and stands and jumps and cusses in my ear for 3.5 hours. lovely. (sorry, had to vent for a second)

I'm so glad I still get to sit in the student section where it is loud and crazy at all times. However, the thought of selling alcohol in JH is absolutely crazy!!! It would be a nightmare!

Nightmare...no kidding...then you would have to pay inflated prices...I like it just how it is...paying for it at the ABC store and sneaking it in!!! :moon:

haha very true, the funny thing about the game saturday was that they told all students that if you "appeared" intoxicated while trying to enter JH then they wouldnt let you in, THEN when i was entering the student section they didnt even check me for alcohol, and I was using a friends ID, it was quite hilarious.
