Most Recruits that come to Visit Auburn

something like "it's amazing" or "I've never seen anything like it" or "Wow". I just happen to realize that I can't ever recall any recruit saying that about Alabama or any other school for that matter. Of course we don't get the pub about the other schools that they do so if they did say it (about any but Bammer) we wouldn't know. We do see the comments by idiots like Willie Williams however, because the bammer media seems to like to publicize that.

I for one, am tremendously proud of my school and somewhat amazed that we can still put on that "goose bump" pre-game show that we have been putting on for so many years. It just gets better and better and louder and louder. I recall Adrian Carston remarking something like: "This is what college football should be about." We have a lot to be thankful for and the future at Auburn is bright indeed. Those "Other" Schools don't seem to have a clue about what we are talking about when we mention that "Auburn spirit" being so special and that's OK with me because it means we pretty well own it. Prospects see first hand what kind of people we have at Auburn and what the word "family" really means. We are a proud people and may we never go quietly into that dark night and may we ever rage against the dying of the light....may it ever be true at AUBURN! Sorry, got a little emotional. :big::cheer::au:

:au: My buddy and I were just talking last Saturday about how emotional we get during pre-game. I get watery eyes before every single home game. I wouldn't have it or want it any other way. WDE! :au:

If the outcome of a football game takes anything away from the Auburn experience, I would question your actual love and loyalty to Auburn. As a good friend of mine and I walked out of the stadium with our sons on Saturday night, I was proud of the Auburn fans that I saw, not laughing and partying, but gathering at their tailgates, hugging old friends, talking about the game in reasonable terms, and having a few more beers and pieces of grilled animal flesh from the habachi.

I saw shakers being carried home for souveniers (or to be brought back next week) and saw people teling each other War Eagle. I saw Auburn people congratulating GA Tech fans on a good win for their team.

It made me proud to be an Auburn Tiger. Sunday morning dawned bright and early and I went to church with my son and my parents, wearing a bright orange Auburn shirt. The Auburn fans commented that we still had a lot to be proud of and I agreed.

Auburn is not simply a football game, at least not to me and scores of other true Auburn men and women everywhere. Auburn is a part of who I am, not who I cheer for during football season.

I still have a good feeling about Auburn, even after games like Saturday night. Because it is so much more to me. I will still get chills as I remember experiences and friendships from years ago that have nothing to do with the scores of football games. If you don't, maybe you need to do some self examination and figure out exactly what Auburn means to you.

Should I have been happy when Bammers surrounded Toomer's Corner after the 1999 Iron Bowl?

No, obviously there is an exception to every rule. And to say that anyone would be "happy" with this situation is taking my comments a bit to the extreme.

I hated that day also, but the fact that we lost took nothing away from my next experience on campus.

It is always just a game, not matter how wrapped up in it we get, it is still simply one game in a series of games.

I hate the fact that we lose as much as anyone, but I am usually over it within a few days. It lingers longer for some and there is nothing wrong with that. I hated the game Saturday night, but it is in the past and can't be undone.

Well said ... I'm Auburn win or lose ... I don't kick our young men when they are down, but support and help them back up. All AU fans should defend and take up for our team.
