PChamp119 96
After watching the MSU game, I personally felt it opened up more questions than answers overall - nothing specific really except for the defense. I can't put my finger on it, but it just felt like more questions were arising. I felt overall the team played worse than GT. Granted AU got the shutout and that's awesome. A shutout is a shutout, but I felt MSU played poor. I really liked a lot of what I saw against GT, with the exception of the INTs. We still ran the ball really well yesterday. The RBs and TEs are playing outstanding. The receivers are catching the ball. Brandon did better under pressure by running the ball, but he still made a couple mistakes (but that happens). We didn't see him throw much yesterday. The offense I'm not worried about too much. But on defense, our secondary got beat a lot. In my opinion, MSU played horrible - a lot of missed throws by their qb play when they had our receivers beat on routes. AU is leaving the middle of the field wide open it seems. Just seems like almost every play in which AU give up a first down is a throw right down the middle for 8 yards. I'm just worried that against a better offense and a better qb, our DBs are giving too much room and will attack the corners. Personally I think one question was answered and I knew Auburn was going to win when I saw it: Quentin Groves. He is my favorite defensive player and he actually got to play this weekend. I hope he continues to play. I think the new comers did really well. Johnathon Wilhite.... Wow - amazing play. And great consistency as well. Ulysses Alexander (sp?) I thought showed a lot in his small role yesterday as well. 3 weeks to work and get into the groove of things. USC is gonna be tough. BTW, lol, what did everyone think of the 4 RBs all touching the ball on the first 4 plays? I thought it was interesting that our 4th string rb got more touches than our "starter." I like Tre, but I still think Kenny should be our man. Carl has shown good stuff as well. Brad, I can't evaluate cuz he has shown mostly on mopup duty. Don't provoke him. He had a week to simmer down and rethink his comments.
PChamp119 96
I said before that I saw a lot of good things vs GT except for the INTs. I meant as the game as an entirety. Even Cox was fine except for the INTs. What a stated was that I felt (I have to be careful with words now) our QB play is not good in pressure situations - like making bad decisions and throwing INTs. Our QB play is fine with lots of protection. Cox did better this week by not making many poor decisions under pressure and running the ball or taking the sack. But when it comes down to it, better defenses will be rushing our QB and I feel our QB play can't handle it.

USC) our O-Line will have had enough time to gel together......Hell, even the bammer QB looked bad against pressure, but then he'd throw a Hail Mary and the Southern Miss. DBs would practically stop to see if the bammer WRs would catch it.......Trust me PC it will all come together before the Carolina game.
Erik81 0
our QB play is not good in pressure situations - like making bad decisions and throwing INTs. 180383[/snapback] Not many first time starters are great in pressure situations-you really just don't have enough information to think that he will suck in pressure situations and stating that he will because he had a bad fourth quarter will get you flamed. he had the pressure on him THE WHOLE GAME-the whole game-he had no running game-but he still converted many 3rd and longs and adjusted well and moved the offense-two picks weren't his fault-everyone with any decent amount of football knowledge believes that he will be a very good QB. He threw it 44 times in his first start-44 times and we ran it 19 times-They blitzed him all night-he handled it well for the most part and because of his late turnovers you believe that he needs all kinds of protection to be effective and there isn't really any evidence of that being true.
