Ranger12 53
Okay, I need to know how many of my brothers and sisters of nation have the same taste that I do when it comes to offbeat animation. I can't get enough of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force". I love it! I got my wife to watch it with me one night and she told me I was "disturbed" for laughing at Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad. Am I disturbed or do I have a different sense of humor? Maybe my sense of humor is just more advanced.
Draven 0
I like the idea of advance sense of humor. I love ATHF in fact I have sets one and two on dvd. I mean what is not funny about Shake and the mess he always gets into and somehow puts the punishment off on Carl or Meatwad after spending a week in the dryer getting to shock the devil out of Shake. But yeah I am with you all the way on Aqua Teen . Have you seen Robot Chicken yet?
Ranger12 53
Have you seen Robot Chicken yet? 181147 Yep. I like it too, but not as much as ATHF. I love what they do with those dolls. Motley Crue has a little movie they play before the concert and during their break that is like the Robot Chicken skits. My guess is that they actually got the Robot Chicken guys to make it for them. When I saw the ATHF dvds at the store the other day, I picked them up, but got the evil eye from the wife. You know, the eye that women give that says "I know you are not about to spend money on that crap!".
DKW 86 7,950
Family Guy, Futurama, Robot Chicken, I love them all. ATHF, well, it's okay OK I guess. But Stewie is a scream on FG. "Now tell the one that doesnt suck!" Stewie to CarrotScalp @ an Indian Casino.
Tiger in Spain 0
I'm there with you man, the more offbeat the better! Anyone here watch The Happy Tree Friends? I haven't seen the Robot Chicken stuff yet, but I'll most definitely keep an out for it though. One of my favorite TCN cartoons prior to the Adult Swim stuff was Cow and Chicken. That show was funny in a very sick sort of way, and most of the material was very adult in nature......way over the kids heads. Stewie cracks me up on TFG. One of my favorites is when Lois is trying to get Stewie to eat his broccoli. "Come on sweetie, eat your broccoli. It's good for you! Here comes the airplane!" "Damn you, damn the broccoli, and damn the Wright Brothers!"
Ranger12 53
Yeah, Futurama and FG are awesome too. You know, I never even gave Futurama a look when it was on FOX. I knew it was from the guys that did the Simpsons and I never really liked the Simpons. I started watching it when it came on before ATHF. Bender is the man..err robot! My favorite episode of FG is when Brian falls in love with Lois. It cracked me up when they had to have their talk. My wife can watch Futurama, but FG is another one that she thinks is too weird for her. This comes from the woman that can laugh at South Park. Haven't figured that out yet. Have not heard of the Happy Tree Friends. The title makes me think that it may be about a group of friends that partakes of the "happy weed". Have any of you caught that new one called "American Dad"? Is it any good. I think it is from the creators of FG isn't it?

Too bad I'm in the Eastern Time Zone now, and I don't stay up late enough to watch any Adult Swim. Family Guy and Futurama own me!!! My favorite Stewie quote... When everyone thinks Stewie is Meg's crack baby, and he's adopted by the international family..."I want pancakes! God, do you people understand every language except English? Yo quiero pancakes! Donnez moi pancakes! Click click bloody click pancakes!" American Dad is okay. It's a little to political for my tastes. He's a stereotypical Republican. Except he's way over the top. It seems they are making fun of Republican's more than anything.
WarTim 3,533
Most of my "TV TIME" is spent in the company of my lovelly Bride. She doesn't "get" The Simpsons. She watches it with me, every episode. I just don't think she could handle the "other" cartoon type stuff.
Draven 0
Family guy is great and its good that so many stations are picking it up now I have new episodes on Fox and old ones on adult swim, and TBS. Just grand I tell you Favorite Stewie quote: Stewie: You know, I rather like this God fellow. Very theatrical, you know. Pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence ... gotta get me some of that. Guest Tigrinum Major
I bet TM and AUesquire could add to this thread. 181266 Actually, I am not a great fan of these types of shows. I think some of them are funny, like Family Guy and Futurama, but I don't make it a point to watch them unless there is nothing else on that has my interest. Mostly, I find myself watching them late at night when I can't sleep. Otherwise, I pass. But I will never miss an opportunity to add to a thread. AUesquire 1
I have a 4 year old son and Cartoon Network ("Cartoon Neckwork") as he calls it, is always on if he's watching the tube. Prior to Adult Swim, of course. Anyway, a show called Billy and Mandy comes on and these two kids have the Grim Reaper living with em'. He's basically a skeleton with a Jamaican accent, mon. I have a bad habit of watching these shows with my little guy and all of a sudden, here's this character, Grim, looking around saying, "Wait, this is not my beautiful house, and this is not my beautiful wife." Just then, Billy chimes in with.....(for those of you following along here over 30 years of age)..."Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was." For those of you who have no clue right now....this is a kids show quoting lyrics from David Byrne and Talking Heads from the early 80s. Both me and my 4 year old are cracking up laughing for totally different reasons.

Long story short they win. This thread has got me wondering how much cartoons I do watch at night, terrible thing insomnia. Ed, Edd and Eddie is another good show... maybe I watch to many cartoons. Ranger12 53
Ed, Edd, and Eddie..that is one of my son's shows that I do like. I can handle me some Spongebob every now and then. My son is also into the new Transformers and a new GI Joe cartoon just started. But I don't like them because the have that silly, goofy, anime style where eyeballs pop out of their head when they get scared. The dialouge is horrible also and stories have not flow. I have the old TF and GI Joe on DVD and he watched those also. Whatever happened to Ren and Stimpy? Does anybody play those anymore. I used to love me some R&S. AURaptor 1,137
ATHF - It really is too damn funny to watch. I don't DARE watch it under the influence of any adult beverages. I might not survive. I feel a bit guilty that I find it so funny...is that wrong?

vatz22au 145
Alot of it is good. If any of you have appreciation for excellent drawing and work ethic...Anime is also very good. It takes alot of skilled drawers just to make one episode....and its very skillfully done. Not only that, but the Anime on Adult Swim has very complex and GREAT storylines. Watch Cowboy Bepop from episode one till the last episode in which he dies. Very great story, alot of emotional aspects....show makes you think from time to time. Not Kid-like in any way.... I like the series Submarine 707r, Cowboy Bepop, Vampire Hunter D, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. I just can't stand that comic strip style of anime where when somebody gets excited or scared their head becomes real big and there eyeballs bulge out of their sockets. That may be alright if the show is supposed to be funny, but not on a show that is supposed to be "dramatic". I was excited about a new GI Joe cartoon because I actually liked the last two that was done with computer animation. But when I saw it was that goofy, comic strip anime, I took it off my list of things to record on my DVR.

WaReAgLe83 0
I actually thought the Plutonians were funnier than the Mooninites. "Oh, look! It's Melt Disney Verld!" Oh, there's so many great lines from ATHF. Like "Dude, my dad totally owns a dealership." and "Arise chicken! Chicken, arise!"
