Msg Board speed

Seems like every week, the board gets slower and slower to access....Right now I am at the Auburn Library (they have a pretty good high speed connection) and it took me 3 minutes just to post this topic

Is their anyway to speed it up???

You need to put a NOS sticker on your computer. It'll double the speed!

It's a problem with the hosting company and we are in the process of getting it rectified. Sorry about the slowness, but we're sick of it too and are working on it.

I only notice it right after games which is obviously the time when we see the most traffic. I can't imagine we see THAT much traffic though.

Our host has not been very amenable to the hardware fix. They are offering cash back, but that doesnt help the speed tho.

We are working on it now. I think you will all be happy.

Seriously, though, with the way this board has grown and with the increased traffic I'm surprised that it has stayed as fast as it has. I'm sure the database is huge - resulting in longer queries. I wonder if IPB support might have some suggestions for database optimizations?

David, is this site in a shared hosting environment? If so, you might want to look at a dedicated hosted plan - that way you don't have to share resources with your web host's other customers. Costs a bit more though.
