OL and Kenny Irons

It has the makings of a low scoring game and the running game will be key for Auburn.

Boise State ( 169 ), Vandy ( 150 ), Arkansas ( 216 ) and Florida ( 153 ) had some success running the ball on the Bulldogs.

Since 2000, Auburn is 37-1 when they run the ball 41 times or more. The lone loss came to UGA in 2002 but we probably win that one, if Brown doesn't get hurt late in the game.

Under Borges, our running game has run the ball at least 40 times in 15 of 22 games. We averaged 35 carries in the other 7 contests. CAB clearly knows the value of a strong running game despite searching for a balanced attack.

With this being the Georgia game and the death of Hugh Nall's brother, this will clearly be a very emotional game for Hugh Nall, our OL and the team. If the OL plays to their potential, Irons could have a huge night.

thoughts?

Some people put a lot of "weight" into emotions and football. I think that there are good arguements on either side. I do think that I would not want to be a uga D-lineman knowing that the AU players on the O-line have dedicated themselves to play this one for their coach. They were already gonna' be tough. This may make our running game REALLY tough to deal with.

Time will tell...... :au:

My sentiments exactly. They are good enough anyway, but the AU OL playing on a mission could be serving up pancakes all night. That doesn't mean they will win, but I think those guys are mature enough that the emotion would not affect them negatively.
