Forgot this morning with all the hub-bub that was occuring that today is the Marine Corps B'day. :cheer: Should it surprise anyone that the Corps was born in a tavern? I think not! Semper Fi!

Sani, the blues don't fit to well anymore, I guess it's been 8 years since I tried them on. But, I still have them hanging in the closet. But, alas, no balling tonight. :( If I'm lucky, I might be able to convince Mrs Jarhead to drop the baby off at her sister's house, so we can go see Jarhead tonight.

For TIS and Ranger, :moon:

To all our vets, thank you. Happy early Vet's Day!

Happy Vets day to all other vets and also thanks to all the civilians that have supported us vets...past, present, and future.

I would like to go see "Jarhead", but I was afraid that it would have a "Hollywood liberal-leaning" anti-war slant to it. Is actually a good straight-forward look at military service and combat?

Don't know about the movie but I read the book. It was VERY good! Doesn't have a lot of pictures though so it may take you a while to get through it. :poke:

 OMG. I know a Marine just did not crack on a soldier reading skills. I always thought the pre-requisite for being a Marine was just to know how to grunt...reading and writing was optional. :P

yeah...way to old to fight! I would have to predict which body part of mine would give out first in a fight...my back or my knees. Of course, alcohol was the catalyst needed for a fight to break out between jarheads, soldiers, and swabbies. How come Air Force guys never get in fights? Or at least the ones I have been witness too, because I never actually participated in altercations like that.

Not sure.....Most of the ones I knew were smart enough to be the ones who called shore patrol on all of us! Reminds me why I never liked them!

My brother and my old roommate are both in Jacksonville, NC right now. Aka, the only American city with more strip clubs than Tijuana. My roommate is in 2nd force at Camp Lejeune (and yes to answer your quetion, he is completely out of his mind). And my brother is at Gieger finishing his SOI, he's going into Security Forces.

Thank God for Tunn Tavern.
