They are allowed to sleep late (10 am) on gameday when game is at night. They are allowed to watch games on TV. The pregame meal is served approx 4 hours before kickoff. After about the 1st quarter of the LSU game they will head to Athens. Anthony Mix is an inside receiver,(bet we see the slant play). There will be surprise plays, no secret there. Sears supension is disappointing but will not be tolerated and the team will learn from it but will not effect play.Everyone is healthy, Brad Lester will be a big part of the game plan. TigerOne 1,288
From John Pruett's article in todays Huntsville Times http://www.al.com/sports/huntsvilletimes/j...6581.xml&coll=1 Good stuff, a little history...Sullivan and Beasley "I guess it was the biggest game any of us ever played. We were undefeated and so was Auburn. It was always a big rival, but it was the first time both teams had come in undefeated that late in the year. "Playing Auburn was always such an inner-family battle because so many of our coaches had Auburn backgrounds and so many of their coaches had Georgia backgrounds - and it's still that way. That's one of the reasons this game is so special. "Anyway,'' Sleek said, "I just came up with the thought that if you knew the world would end tomorrow, what better thing could you hope for than to play Auburn today?'' Too bad it didn't work, Sleek added. Auburn beat Georgia 35-20 between the hedges that Saturday in one of the most electrifying atmospheres in the history of the SEC. "We didn't have a good season the year before,'' Sleek said, "but we went over to Auburn and knocked 'em out of the Sugar Bowl.'' The Bulldogs won 31-17, easily the highlight of a season that ended 5-5. "That Auburn team had a lot of great players, guys like Alvin Bresler, Terry Beasley, Mickey Zofko and Wallace Clark,'' Sleek said. "When they came to Athens the next year, I thought we'd really take it to 'em again. But instead, (Pat) Sullivan and Beasley kept making all these incredible plays. "As I recall, we rushed for over 300 yards that day, but it'd take us seven or eight minutes to score. It took Auburn two minutes. Or one play. Everybody always says that was the day Sullivan won the Heisman Trophy.'' Sleek was Georgia's defensive captain in 1972. Not long after the Bulldogs lost 27-10 in Auburn, he graduated with a degree in accounting and went to work in the refrigerated warehouse business in the Atlanta area. He later worked in Attalla, Ala., for five years before returning to Georgia just a few weeks ago. Sleek plans to "give my tickets to the kids'' and watch Saturday night's Auburn-Georgia game on TV. But his heart will be Between the Hedges. And yes, he'll be remembering something he wrote on a cardboard sign one November day 34 years ago - something that said: "If the world were to end tomorrow, your fondest wish would be that you're playing Auburn today.'' tigerman1186 537
Very fond memories of the Aub-Ga game that year....it wasn't on TV, again back then there was only one game on.....but somehow living in Florida I was able to pick it up on the radio....that was the day that I decided to sign with Auburn back in 71....and with Pat winning the Heismen, I knew I made the right decision....
