Cordera Eason was the back we were after sssooo heavily last season. :om: got a great one and I fully expected him to beat out McSwain for starter this year. Eason is a 4 or 5 star RB. CTT wanted him pretty badly but he knew he would get playing time at :om:

O-line shuffle

OXFORD, Miss. -- Because his offensive line is still a work in progress, coach Art Kehoe has been mixing and matching, looking to find the best five players by the time Ole Miss opens its season at home Sept. 3 against Memphis.

Kehoe's latest shift has seen junior college transfer Corey Actis' move from center to right guard, where he played in Saturday's scrimmage and during Monday's practice. Actis was originally signed out of Bakersfield (Calif.) Community College with hopes of taking over the center position. But he has been unable to overtake junior Thomas Eckers.

Moving Actis to guard allowed Kehoe to get a look at junior James McCoy at center.

''We want to move guys around and find the best five,'' Kehoe said. ''Corey did some good things. And James McCoy did some good things as backup center. Now we think we've got three centers, too.''

Crowded backfield

Last year, it was midseason before the Rebels found their running back, freshman Mico McSwain, and that was only after converting him from defensive back. This year, they may have the problem of too many backs. Indiana transfer BenJarvus Green-Ellis will be the starter and carry the bulk of the load. McSwain is expected to be his backup. But how many carries he gets remains to be seen, because true freshman Cordera Eason and junior college transfer Bruce Hall are looking very impressive, leaving offensive coordinator Dan Werner with some interesting decisions.

Can't blame Eason for wantign to play, too bad he won't be a championship team, though. I think Ole Miss does have the potential to be decent. With an improved O they will be stronger than last year. Didn't they return a few guys on D, i.e. Patrick Willis for one. He was alll over the field against us had like 15 or 16 tackles!!! They may break the .500 mark this year even.
