Bottomfeeder 244
On the longer ball, I like to see the receiver and quarterback set up the reception behind the defender. It has many advantages including shaking the defender and giving the receiver an inside move to the center of the field for more yardage. The first pass in the video is an example of that. But, all in all I love the bomb, and I believe we are going to see more of it this year. 2007 Auburn football coming soon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtbPw6IDUEQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEp59gUS6do Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/39090-july-10-workout/ Share on other sites
drewau02 0
I would like to see the receivers run the correct routes this year. It would be a step in the right direction anyway. Hopefully the receivers and Brandon Cox have spent some quality time on their own this summer working on routes, timing, play calls, etc. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/39090-july-10-workout/#findComment-391098 Share on other sites
WarTim 3,539
T. Zachery looks good in this video. He seems to be a good kid that could REALLY contribute THIS year. Hawthorne MUST step up for us to have legit deep threat! Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/39090-july-10-workout/#findComment-391131 Share on other sites
DonCorleone 0
Zachery looked extremely fast. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/39090-july-10-workout/#findComment-391161 Share on other sites
AuburnChopper1 0
Seems like most years we have a receiver that sort of "pops" out of nowhere and has an outstanding season. Everyone's going to know about Rod Smith, even be focused on Hawthorne a little. I sure haven't heard much about Zachery, relative to Smith and Hawthorne... It was good to see Tommy Trott put that move on the D-Back.... He'll get a few of those this year. A lot of D-backs don't expect tight routes by Tight Ends.... Very good to see... PChamp119 96
I attended practice the last two days (Fri & Sat). Granted it was the first couple of days and just drills, but the team was practicing the long ball a lot. Our receivers really didn't do a good job at catching the ball though. But there is still lots of time to work on that. Tight Ends looked GREAT at catching the ball. Tommy Trott amazed me with some beautiful (really difficult) catches. Now if he can only hold on to the ball this year after he catches it...
