Sorry about that Tiger fans...

My apologies for the ridiculous and rude remarks made by my fellow K-Staters. Most of them are, no doubt, clueless about Auburn football (may not even remember the recent unbeaten season) and the SEC tradition. We're kind of "new money" when it comes to football success, after all. These young'uns are the spoiled rich kids that didn't suffer through those 1-10 seasons like I did.

I am making the trip down, and would love suggestions on where it's possible to set up for tailgating for those of us that won't have parking permits. And any other tips you might have (bars, pick-up lines, etc.).

Looking forward to seeing Toomer's Corner, hearing War Eagle, Tiger's flight and taking in the sights on The Plains.

Bo, should be a good one!

Welcome to the forum. Tailgating is anywhere you can find a spot in Auburn...it will be all over the place. Please make sure you come back to post after the game and let us know what you think of the loveliest village.

No apologies necessary...were used to dealing with idiots on this board remember uat is our rival.

Thanks for the post, DC. As autiger518 said, tailgate wherever you can find an open spot. It is literally all over campus. Be sure to walk around campus too. Gamedays at Auburn are unbelievable.

If you want to go out after the game, downtown has a few bars. Bodega is usually where we go post-tailgate. It's right on Toomer's Corner, so hopefully you'll get to see it fully rolled. After that, you definitely need to make it out to the War Eagle Supper Club (my namesake).

Thanks DCKSUCat, I kept approving new members I could tell were KState fans waiting for a level headed one. We had one here a week or so ago who seemed nice enough, and had a fair amount of football knowledge...

Unfortunately, tailgating in Auburn isn't as it used to be. Not so long ago you could set up anywhere on campus, start up the grill, and drink the few unattractive women at Auburn pretty. Now the majority of tailgating has been forced to some fields surrounding our University. You'll easily see where these spots are at. As for bars, it all depends on your taste. I prefer Buffaloes, which is located downtown, and Rooster's, located a short walk from downtown. Pick-up lines? Don't need 'em, so you're on your own, but enjoy your time with us and thanks for not being like the others. War eagle!

dude i hate to rain on your parade but roosters was razed and took over the old maui taco on opelika highway. all in the name of condos

one of the newer bars downtown is 17-16. Its alright, but can get kinda boring. The best part is the breakfast after closing time. If you're more laid back then i would suggest the Olde Auburn Ale House, only microbrew in town, food and service are so-so but the beer is great.

Yeah, I know. You can still walk there, though. Especially with a few beers in you. I know I've done more for a beer than walk.

Sometimes happiness takes a little effort.

Ditto on what everyone else said. Get as close to campus as you can as early as you can and setup the tailgate. If you need directions to any of the places, any Auburn fan should be happy to point you in the right direction.

As for me, I prefer the Ale House after the game, and Momma Goldberg's sandwiches before hand. I would highly suggest the supper club too if you want to get a little more rowdy, and walk outside to greet the rising sun.

Suddenly bamaperry doesn't seem so bad after all.

Im a bama fan along with perry.....but seriously don't give him to much credit. I tend to over look his posts, if you know what i mean.

Welcome to the board. FYI (no big deal), Tiger no longer flies. The golden eagle that will probably be flying goes by the name of Nova. She is younger and has done a few games in the past. We miss Tiger...

mmmmm Momma G's nachos..... mmmmmm....

the only problem with getting a tailgating spot is that most of the good ones are taken by friday afternoon. But I think the best thing for you to do is just to walk around campus and take it in. There will be a lot of people that will invite you over for a beer or some food. The ampatheatre is pretty cool. Make sure you go to Tiger Walk and get in the stadium early!!! You have to see the eagle fly. It touches me more every time.

As for bars. The most crowded will be Sky Bar. It's pretty cool but mainly very young people. Though it is right downtown.

The others downtown include 17-16(kind of small but alright), Bodega (fun bar right at Toomer's, Quixote's - normally less crowded(maybe not during football weekends), and Bourbon Street bar. There is also Buffaloes which is a restaurant bar.

Sky Bar, Bodega, and Bourbon Street normally have live music on Game weekends.

As for the others, Roosters is close to downtown, a couple of miles away from that is the Highlands(not sure if it has reopened yet), Lumberyard(not sure if it's still open), and a newer bar called the Rodeo Grill. It has a mechanical bull inside.

Late night places include Fat Daddy's, the Strutting Duck, and Supper Club. The Duck doesn't serve liquor but has good music normally. It's also very small. Fat Daddy's is fun, has pool tables and is open late. The Supper Club is Auburn's most famous bar. It's been around forever. A ton of fun. They require a membership card(only like two bucks) and a cover (5 or 7 if i remember correctly). These are the only bars open past 2AM.

There's always stuff to do on game weekends. I hope you have a great time and War Eagle!

I'm a scholarship donor with a parking spot (#950) 55 paces outside the stadium, West side.

Come on by for some Southern "Q" and drinks.

We'll be tailgating and always glad to meet new friends.

I too am planning I making the trip down to Auburn. I am actually driving from Georgia with some family. I am curious, when the worst time to get there. I think my fam is planning on going to a wildcat pregame event so that will put us in town about 4 or so... how bad will it be driving around town about that time?

I take it you mean 4:00 pm on game day. Unless they've done a ton of road construction since last season, that will be a nightmare. Trying to find somewhere to park will be even worse. If it were me, I'd try to get there as early as possible and walk around, tailgate and enjoy Auburn.
