Bosley Injures Knee

No official word but it doesn't look good. If he's out an extended period of time (blown knee = out for season) it should be interesting to see what happens at the position: do we start Ryan Pugh or move Berry back to center?

At this point, we might be better running no contact practices from here on out just so we can field a team vs KSU. This is getting ridiculous.

No crap. I can't remember so many injuries coming from preseason practice before. CTT is known for tough practices, but this is too much.

Really? We've lost how many players, 1?

No official word on Bosley yet. If he's done for the season, then we have serious issues. And I really don't think having no contact practices will resolve those issues.

Well.....let's see, LB Steve Gandy (4th Concussion), DT Tez D (Torn Achilles), TB Tristan Davis (Broken Toe), OT Leon Hart (Ankle Sprain); FB/TB/TE Carl Stewart, TE Gabe McKenzie, DT Jermarcus Ricks, and WR Montez Billings (Hamstring), QB Neil Caudle and QB Steven Ensminger (Shoulder), DT Kyle Coulahan (Finger), and now C Jason Bosley (Knee Injury). But, I'm with you Town, if we start doing No Contact drills now instead of two days before the KSU game, our boys will be Soft... I'd bet KSU and USF aren't doing non-contact drills right now. Injuries are a part of Football. Let's just hope these kids take the time to heal completely before making a decision and saying, "Yea coach I'm fine, I can play" when in reality they might not be 100%, which will in turn hurt the team more than help. Before all these injuries I was saying that I couldn't wait until the AU Engine Fires back up... now I kinda want it to hold off for a week or two more, lol.

The injuries are troubling, but its not the end of the world.

Carl will be back at the end of this week. Thats what he told me yesterday. Just like most everyone else with minor nicks and bruises. It was bound to happen, especially with everyone tired because of the heat. It really sucks about Tristan, even though he'll be back by the time we hit the meat of our SEC schedule.

Again, I'm reminded of last August, when we were all nervous when our guys were going down with injuries because it was the most physical practice yet, until this year. I seem to remember Brandon being out for a while, along with Courtney Taylor, which had alot of people very upset. These things happen, and some guys will be out for a few weeks, some will be out until the last week of practice, some may be out for good. But I'm pretty sure we'll be fine.

Tuberville and the coaches have been doing this long enough to know how to handle these situations. I think we can all rest assured that everything is being done for the best.

Ryan

"If we pulled off practice right now, we'd get beat anyway," he said. Besides, he said, he has willing replacements.

"It's the reason you have to have depth," he said. "If this had been three or four years ago, it would be different."

Injuries, of course, are an inevitable part of football. With the uncertainties in the offensive line, contact is necessary. If our coaching staff decided that we would have no more contact to lessen injuries many of us here would be thinking we are about to take UA's place and be one of the softest teams in the SEC. Our coaches are not green horns, they know what they are doing.

I would think Center would have to be one of the toughest positions to play. I am not dogging our centers because God knows I could never do it. They are each tough as hell.

But it seems our centers have been injured since at least the 04 season at least. Have we had a season without our center being really banged up? Do all teams have this problem or is it one of those things that will haunt Auburn forever? Really - no position other than Center is this badly injured for this program.

PC has a point about our centers. It may just be a coincidence but our centers have taken a beating over the last 5-6 years. I was excited to see us sign a true center the caliber of Ryan Pugh but I sure wasn't expecting him to be thrown into the fire this soon. Hopefully, Bosley just suffered a strain of some sort and just needs a week off.
