tristan's x-ray

So was this a broken toe right? I read it was a hairline fracture and I was just curious why a hairline fracture needed a screw and would take 6-8 weeks?

Anyway, hopefully he makes a quick recovery. I think Fannin will be a solid return man. Didn't Robert Dunn return some kicks last year or am I totally wrong about that?

If you look at the third groove in the screw you can see a light line going across perpendicular to the plane of the screw. Thats the fracture. Its going through the joint surface which is why it was repaired. The thing on the end is the surgeon's hand holding the toe. The screw grabs both sides of the fracture and holds them together much like holding two pieces of wood together.

As for being like your fence screws, I doubt your's were titanium and cost nearly as much.

It just seems counterintuitive that the best way to fix a small hairline fracture, is to drill a big hole in the bone and insert a piece of titanium.

Its only hairline after the screw is holding it together.

Watch that video... Made me about cry not having Tristan returning kicks for the first half of the season. Not sure how long he will be out, I heard 6 weeks? or 4 games? Or something like that.. Eitherway, he will be missed. I hope the broken toe doesn't effect his speed.

Hey! What do you know? I have a pretty nice fence! I hate rust.

Anyway, hope Tristan is not only healthy, but back to full form by the Florida game. We can use him!

Wow this stinks...I really have kept my eye on T. Davis. We're really gonna miss him on returns. He's diffinitely the best kickoff returner since Thomas Bailey.I LOVE the way he accepts the return...he catches then runs hard and straight (about 7 to 10 yards)before he starts cutting left and right and I think that's key to a good returner.Anyways we miss ya already and are looking forward to quick healing. :)

as for being able to pick up sarcasm..... :poke:

As for being able to pick up return dry wit.

It looks like TD's toe is healing up well. Sometimes toes don't heal as quickly because they don't have as good of a blood supply. Hopefully the screw doesn't cause him any irritation or it'll have to come out which means more time lost for that to heal again.

That would stink........is it a phillips or flat head?

Probably a phillips, but it depends what brand. Some are star drives or kind of a torx type drive and some others are a square drive or robertson. They tend to not strip as bad. Stripping a screw in your deck is bad. Stripping a screw in someones toe is worse.

Kickinwing, I'm not laughing with you, I'm laughing at you. You may think you are cute, I think you are stupid. Its quite ironic for you to make fun of someone about sarcasm when you aren't picking up the return. Its like playing tennis with no one on the other side of the net. :poke::lol:
