Cameron Henderson has been upgraded to a three star. This doesn't really mean anything, with the exception that it is a little validation of the Auburn staff's assessment.

If he has a strong senior year, I think his name will begin to be mentioned among the best DE prospects in the state.

I highly doubt there's any sort of a conspiracy by Rivals staff members to rate Alabama players higher than Auburn ones. Tuberville however has shown all along that he has an uncanny knack of finding gems among 2 and 3 star players. To quote him "The moment you start recruiting out of magazines, is the moment you're a head coach without a job." In fact if you look at our starting depth chart for years and years, Auburn has an amazing density of 2 and 3 star players that start on their teams, along with some 1 stars (Courtney Taylor exhibit A).

All this being said, last years recruiting class still hasn't even taken the field yet. We're a season and months away from recruiting being finalized, and Auburn's highly touted class from last year will certainly have a more immediate impact than whatever class Alabama brings in this year. Auburn's depth is really starting to stack up, players know that if they come here they would have to most likely at least redshirt a year, then possibly be sitting on the bench as a backup. To illustrate that point Auburn I believe I heard has only 18 scholarships to hand out this year, and Tuberville has consistently used more and more redshirts in the past few years.

I fully expect Alabama to bring in a great class this year, it's a heavy talent year in the state, Alabama still holds the most sway over most in-state recruits, players have the better opportunity to start there, and Saban is a good recruiter.

To be honest though, I could really care less, we've been the more dominant team in the state for the past twenty-five years, we know we have a shot at the SEC Title each year, Tuberville is the better coach out of the two, and quite honestly I'm not the least bit worried about the kind of players Tuberville brings in when I've seen nothing but a group of talented, hard working, determined, successful men take the field at Jordan Hare each and every year.

This all being said, enjoy winning your recruiting rankings, maybe one day your team can actually crack the top-25 rankings, maybe even beat us, maybe lose bowl games somewhere else than shreveport, or maybe even be something other than the 4th best team in the SEC West.

I found that hard to believe so I looked up the last 5 years:

According to Scout CTT has had no top 5 and only 2 top tens.

Accotding to Rivals CTT has had no top 5 and only 2 top tens there also.

The problem with these stupid recruiting rankings is that is based on volume. The more kids you sign (no matter their * ranking) the higher your overall ranking. It gives no consideration from what I have seen to the number of kids that can be signed. This would be like a team scheduling 13 games winning 11 and losing 2 would be ranked higher than a team that scheduled 10 games and won 10 games. The first team has more wins therefore he must be the better team. This does not just relate to AU. The ability to sign fewer players in a given year due to how many scholarships you have available does not mean you have a bad year. In fact it could be a fantastic year depending on who they are.

I'm glad you're getting used to reading that as it is what 99% of posts written by uat fans will consist of this year. After another 6-6 season, there will be quite a bit of crying and moaning going on.
