Ranger12 53
For those of you that like movies surrounding the Arthurian or Excalibur legend, you will like this movie. Ben Kingsley is great as usual. It is also nice to see a movie that tells how the legend of Excalibur and how the last Roman Legion came to settle England instead of the various ways the Arthurian legend in connection with Excalibur has been told. This movie actually ties in pretty good to the "King Arthur" movie that was made back in 2004 with Clive Owen as Arthur, which I think was the best Arthurian movie that has been ever made (no offense to any of you Monty Python fans). Saw a bootleg copy of it a couple of months ago. This movie is like a horrible remake of Lord of the Rings. Every character in Last Legion has a corresponding character in LOTR. Julius Caesar's magic sword? Come on. Was glad to see Kevin Mckidd back on the screen though. For fans of the show ROME, he plays a terrible bad guy. Ranger12 53
I saw no correlation between this movie and LOTR at all. No sorcery, monsters, or elves in this movie. To each their own I guess. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/39402-the-last-legion/#findComment-395468 Share on other sites
