AUHansel 0
Alright, I've been looking things over and I don't really understand something. Right now CBS has the FSU-SPUAT game or the AU-UF game scheduled for the 5-8 slot. Does that mean one of the games might be earlier or might not be on CBS at all? I believe ESPN already has three games lined up for this week (ABC/ESPN/ESPN2). What happens if CBS isn't going to broadcast two games that day? Could one of these games be a LF game? anyways, this is what collegefootballnews.com has down for this particular day 09-29 Sat. Air Force @ Navy 1:00 p.m. CSTV 09-29 Sat. Utah State @ Utah 3:00 p.m. The Mtn 09-29 Sat. UTEP @ SMU 4:30 p.m. CSTV 09-29 Sat. Florida State/Alabama or Auburn/Florida 5:00 p.m. CBS 09-29 Sat. Colorado State @ TCU 7:00 p.m. The Mtn 09-29 Sat. Tigerwalkin 2
Don't worry, when Vandy beats bama on Sept. 8th the FSU-bama game won't matter to anybody other than the bammers and seminoles. cehuff21 0
Neither Bama or the Noles are any good. How are they gonna deny showing the two teams in the game changing performance of the year from last year? No way. After the great excitement of last year's game they would be fools to show a mediocre FSU and a wannabe Bama team. SPUAT has 4 CBS games already (Georgia, UT, LSU, and Auburn). Besides, the hours of hype that CBS can come up with over Jimbo vs. Nicky. lca408 382
Does ESPN really have LSwho vs. Tulane for that day? I mean, seriously, Tulane??? What a waste of good TV time. I guess it would be better if we played Florida in the afternoon on CBS, rather than at night on ESPN. I'm really hoping Vandy will beat Bammer and a few others and we could get a night ESPN game for the Commodores on October 6th. atltigerfan 0
If not mistaken I read that CBS will be offering a double header that day which will end up including both the fsu/bama game & the au/uf game. It will different than the typical 12 noon + 3 pm CBS doubleheader. I think the 1st game will still be at 12 noon, but the second game will be at 5pm. Something they are experimenting with this year. Or maybe the first game will be aired at 2pm & the second at 5pm. Either way I'm almost positive CBS will carry both games. Anyway, AU is already slotted for lincoln financial for the au-miss. st. game so once that obligation is complete then AU has the right to refuse any additional games to be aired by lincoln financial. That's some of the best "news to me" that I've heard so far this season. Those 11am games were BS. Technically I think that's true, but I also think Jacobs would relish any opportunity to be on TV, regardless of who shows us. Remember Georgia last year? We were all up in arms over the decision to go at 11:30 am and wanted Jacobs to back out of the LF deal and go pay-per-view at night. Of course, he chose the regional coverage. We have the right to refuse, but I'm fairly certain we'll have at least two - and . That of course is one of the reasons I'm hoping Vandy takes Bammer to the shed, and we can get another prime home game this year. And, has Lswho and Tulane been on ESPN in years past? A primetime game? Really? I know its a rivalry but, come on. I just don't understand the reasoning. Tiger1992 1,114
Looking at the schedule, I think there's a good chance of AU-Vandy and AU-Ole Miss being LF games. If it's between LF and no tv, then you obviously take LF. That's a no brainer. Oct 6 is AU-Vandy. CBS has a double header that day with UGA-UT and LSU-UF. Order to be determined. I don't think ESPN/2 will have an SEC night game that day since CBS has that night slot, although I'm not 100% positive on that. Alabama-Houston is also that day. LF generally sticks to all SEC games with the exception of the first week, although who knows what they'll do. Oct 27 is AU-Ole Miss. That's the day of the Cocktail Party, so count that as an automatic on CBS. UT-Cocks also play that day. As of now, I'd have to guess they have that tentatively slated for ESPN/2, although that'll probably depend on the four team's records at that point. I'm not a big fan of the LF game either, but like I said, if it's a choice between that and no tv, it's a no brainer. Jacobs wouldn't turn down the exposure and $. Nor should he.
