Any Word On Reggie Hunt?

If I'm not mistaken, I thought I noticed earlier in the year, maybe after a Gainesville visit, the Daphne RB had the Gators listed as high interest. Now I see that they are just medium--along with AU and the rest. This guy can scoot with the ball. Would love so see him in burnt orange and blue...and bring his fellow Baldwin County player Julio with him.

From what I've heard its basically Auburn/WVU for Hunt, and he could be making a decision sometime soon.

Sorry, didn't like the recruiter that Auburn sent. I've also read that he is high on Auburn, but I hadn't heard that from any of his coaches. I'm hoping that if CTT and Co. come watch a Fri night game, Reggie could be in.

Most people close to Reggie will tell you he is probably going to end up at UF, although a few think WVU might creep back into the picture.

I honestly don't see him winding up at AU, although I'd be happy to have him.

We flew back up Hunt's list after he attended our final camp. Like I said, from what I've heard its basically down to us and WVU for Hunt. Florida hasn't been mentioned with him in a while, they've already taken one RB (off the top of my head - some kid from Georgia) and I'm not sure if they're pursuing Hunt as hard as they were early on.

Very interesting. I haven't talked with anyone regarding Hunt in a while and didn't realize UF had backed off. Do you think Enrique being pushed back to the '08 classes hurts our chance with Hunt in any way?

I had visions of Hunt in a Percy Harvin type role. Maybe I'm misinterpreting him, but I see him as a nice complement to Enrique in a 2 back set.

I'm thinking Enrique's recent affirmation that he is maintaining his committment may be what has caused Eric Smith to throw the brakes on just a bit in regards to his decision.

Looking at it now I MAY have thrown UF out of the hunt sweepstakes unjustly. I do know that Florida is taking a smaller class this year, they already have 1 RB committed and are still heavily in the running for Scott (#1 back in the country). Hunt was super high on UF early on but I think they may be slow-playing him now, waiting to see what happens with their chances on Scott. I assumed this because they've also cooled on Eric Smith (who we're heavily in on as well) lately after they offered him pretty early. Nevertheless, we're back up there with Hunt.

I wouldn't think that Enrique being pushed back will hurt our chances with any back this year because he likely wont redshirt next year while any other HS back we take very likely will. As long as theres separation in terms of available years of eligibility I think we'll be able to convince any RB not named E.Davis in this class to jump o board.

Could that be why we aren't getting many serious looks with the Mobile area kids this year?
