Okay, there are some great rock videos. But there are some awful ones, too. Here are a couple of nominees. They can be views in their entirety on VH1Classic.

Van Halen: Pretty Woman

Dave as Napoleon in a limo? Midgets torturing a captive female? Eddie as a cowboy? Too much.

KISS: Tears are Falling

Like VH's Pretty Woman, this is a good song. But the video? It epitomizes 80s cheese with the fringed neon spandex, the super keen transitions and Bruce grooving in the rain.

You people criticizing the a-ha video need to stop sniffing glue. You don't have to like the song to see it as an amazing video. Most who follow videos consider it one of the top 5 of all time in terms of creativity and originality.

Same goes for Sledgehammer. I don't know what the hell is wrong with BZ770.

Anyone remember Billy Squier? Had several hits out in the early 80's including Stroke. Music was pretty good for the times but he put out one video that I can't for the life of me remember the song it went with. He was dancing around in the bedroom getting all melodramatic. I remember at the time it was quite possibly the gayest video in the history of mankind.

Later, Squier pointed specifically to that video as the beginning of the end for his career. He said his fanbase turned on him for putting out something that awful.
