I'd like to take a moment to...

...thank Sylvester Croom and Woody McCorvey for helping with this week's offensive gameplan and let them know that we think we can handle it ourselves from here on out.

...wish Brad Lester a speedy and positive resolution to whatever issues still plague him

...take my figurative hat off to the K-State Wildcats and their fans. You guys had every right to sit in stunned disbelief when that was over.

...encourage the K-Staters to come up with some new cheers. Let's go Wildcats clap, clap, clapclapclap is tiresome.

...also encourage the K-Staters to spring for a full mascot uniform. The poor guy with the oversized cat head looked a little disproportionate. Even my seven-year old was amused by his attire.

...encourage Auburn fans not to chant "bulls*it" when they disagree with a ref's call. We're not Alabama.

...wish the Wildcats every success for the remainder of the season. Go out and win the Big 12.

...thank K-State's #27 for his outstanding game and bar him from ever participating in a game at JHS again.

...tell the punk in Section 39 that when I ask him to stop smoking, that means for the duration of the game, not until the next time an urge hits him.

...laugh at Lou Holtz and his idiotic "Notre Dame will win ten games" guarantee. It's time to retire, Lou. Crawl back into your crypt and stay there.

...laugh at Notre Dame, period.

...salute the Auburn defense for keeping AU in the game until the end.

...apologize to the ref I called a monkey ass and let him know that he probably couldn't get a job at Footlocker even though he's got the attire down. When a player turns a complete backward flip and the tackler gets up with his helmet in his hand held by the facemask, that generally means there was a grab. If you're that blind, you won't be able to tell one shoe from the other.

...congratulate the AU fans for sticking with it and turning up the volume in the fourth quarter.

...chastise the AU fans for basically ignoring the team when it came out for the second half. K-State's bunch was way more vocal.

You must add the infamous quote made by Lou Holtz when he declared the App St win over Michigan IN the Big House was NOT an upset...now that was a classic....there is a rocking chair waiting on him somewhere....

WDE!

Karen :au:

The K Stae fans I met, and there were quite a few, were some of the classiest, nicest folks you would ever want to meet. (BTW, they ALL said they hate uat too....Guess that national image needs a lot of spit and polish),

They all said they had been treated better by AU folks while tailgating than anywhere they had ever been. AU people continue to make me proud to be a TIGER ! ! !

Also, NO SMOKING in JHS. PERIOD!

NO scalping on the campus.

NO BOOING!

Two out or Three are enforceable,

I watched it on TV and thought it was a facemask, but the replay showed he grabbed the back of the helmet and ripped it off. The commentators mentioned that in the NFL that is still a penalty, but not in the college game.

Oh yeah, I forgot that college football players' necks are immune to fractures.

A-freakin-men!

I was seeing fireflys after the replay of that play. I was not happy with the refs in that game; it was not well called on both sides of the ball.

They need to make that a penalty... That could kill a player...

The students need to learn a few things (especially the fratties)

I heard one guy complaining that Ben Tate sucks... The next play he broke it for 20something yards (it was called back though because of a hold).

The B.S. chant is one of the most classless things ever... Its not cool. Don't do it.

STAY TILL THE END OF THE GAME... I don't know about those that were there... But my section thinned out tremendously in the 3rd quarter.

The biggest problem AU fans have is not staying pumped up... I think we all saw what noise can do to an opposing team when it finally got loud close to the end of the game last night... Why do we have such a problem with that?

i agree with majority of what you said. The BS thing was just classless. Thats not what were about. Ive heard that at basketball games but never at one of our football games.

It seems to me in the opening game things like this are worse. It seems like there are a lot of people who have either never been to a game or aren't regulars. Then, theres a perception that the team is way better than the opponent and that we should stomp them.

AMEN, amen, amen.

Good gravy folks, give some credit to a team who is clearly better than what they've been credited for. Jeez, Auburn's NEVER had a team that fit that description, have we?

You've never heard that chant at one of our football games? I've never been to a football game in my five seasons here at Auburn and NOT heard the BS chant towards the referees.

I'd like to take a moment to tell all the people that were filing out of section 103 with 10 minutes to go in the 4th that they missed one hell of an ending.

Then there must be two Auburns and you're going to a different game than I am. I've been going to games there since I was three years old -- in the 1960s. I've attended more than 200 games and I remember hearing that just once or twice before.

Maybe I just subconsciously tried to push that trash out of my mind.

Even worse was that I felt like both calls were made correctly when I heard the chant. Either way thats not really the point. IMO it doesnt need to be said period.

I had everyone around us in 112 (including some KSU fans) laughing at their mascot...Ratatouille.

Galen hit the head on the nail with the "cheers" statement... It's allllll they did... it was sad.

We had a scrawny version of Dog the Bounty Hunter sitting in our section blowing up his cigs... It was irritating and he was finally chastized enough to stop about halfway through the 2nd quarter.

I think the crowd was in shock through the mid part of the game when it almost seemed we were going to refuse to make any adjustment against their dink and dunk passing game. We did ultimately, but I was impressed with everyone stepping up at the end and "sticking a fork in them" when it was done.

Good time....

what's worse is a horsecollar tackl is legal..I still remember McFadden busting loose against South Carolina last year and an LB strtching out and grabbing his collar...McF. went down identical to TO but got up.

Another problem:

Why is it that if a player throws a punch he gets ejected even though the other player is wearing a helmet yet players can be yanked around 360 degrees (like LEE like night)by the helmet and stay in the game...the facemask twist is 10 times as dangerous as ANY punch in CFB!

One more thing about the "class" issue -

If you are a student or know a student or ever have a student ticket, TELL EVERYONE TO STOP THROWING OPPOSING TEAM'S FOOTBALLS OUT OF THE STADIUM WHEN THEY KICK A FIELD GOAL OR PAT. It's probably the dumbest, total lack of class action we've ever done as Auburn football fans. That crap started with the Florida game last year and has persisted into '07. Unless you want gigantic metal poles to hold a net up behind the field goal posts, stop doing that crap.

I so agree with everything posted so far. I have been to every game at Jordan Hare since 1989 and don't remember the BS thing being as loud as it was yesterday. Those refs could have caused some major issues with their no calls. The helmet to helmet hit on Brandon when most of us thought he was going to be lost was one of them. That was a blatent foul. Even the announcers said they were shocked (on the replay). And I think pulling a helmet off like that player did to Ben Tate shoudl be illegal as well. A young man can get hurt if he lands wrong just one time!

I'd like to take a chance to stand up to the fratties here who often get a bad wrap. I admit, they are usually the more drunken ones, but....I was in the student section and everytime bullsh*t started, it wasn't from the frat section. The throwing the football out of the stadium, well if you notice, the ball is kicked and passed to students who aren't in the fratt section. The students outside the frat section usually leave before the fraternites because the fraternites are required to keep the seats filled for a certain amount of time. I agree that students do some things they shouldn't, lets not put it on frats though.

I was in section 104 and you’re right about all of the people leaving. On a side note, As I was waiting out the rain before the start of the game I saw someone that I thought I recognized but it took me a bit to figure out who it was. I finally realized that I thought it was Tiger in Spain. (I recognized you from your pics in the Aunation picture thread.)

It was me! I'll be sitting in section 107 for the remainder of the season. If you see me again, stop me and say hello!
