Thanks AU and Tiger Fans

Hey AUNation,

Just wanted to say a quick post-game thanks for the hospitality. My friends and I had a great time all day long, We ended up finding a good spot right on Lem Morrison a little west of Donahoe for our tailgate, and took a walk over to Toomer's Corner (that really is some damn fine lemonade). Also liked the pre-game band convergence outside the stadium. That was very cool. And I loved all the Bama-bashing shirts. Hilarious.

I've been to AU before, but hadn't really had a chance to soak it in. Lots of folks in orange welcomed us to town and wished us luck and - afterward - praised our effort on the field. I guess I'm a cynic, because I just knew KSU wouldn't prevail. No disrespect intended - I'm not sure KSU can run the ball against Duke, let alone Auburn, and I knew we wouldn't win if we couldn't run the ball. Certainly not when they play without discipline. (16 flags!) My buddy said KSU was in the two-minute offense all second half - run two minutes off the clock and punt it. I was stunned we were in the game as long as we were.

Oh, and we were wondering why the eagle didn't fly pre-game - thought maybe it was because of the weather or because the planes flew instead?

It was tempting to party (and drown my sorrows) with you all late into the night, but we had a long drive ahead and didn't get to bed until 2:00 as it was. So, thanks again, congratulations on a good win, and good luck the rest of the way.

Beat 'Bama.

The eagle wasn't able to fly because of the rain before game time. I hate you didn't get to see that in person, but I'm glad you were treated well and had a good time overall.

I think you're a team that's definitely on the way up.

Hi, glad you had a good time and were treated well. Perhaps you were one of the many K-State fans that we had the chance to welcome to Auburn as we were walking around campus.

I do have a question about something though. When the K-State team went to the locker room after pre-game warmups and at halftime, they gathered on the field, locked arms and then trotted off. Is this something that your team normally does?

You've got a very good looking team and I hope you have a very good year.

BTW....anyone who says 'Beat Bama' is okay in my book.

I'm pretty sure Coach Prince started that last year (his first), to underscore the "team as one individual" concept. I like it.

Had the pleasure to meet some of the KSU faithful where my group tailgates. Lots of great football talk by fans of the game. Look forward to hearing good things about KSU this year. The fans I met were first class.

Thanks DCKSUCat, glad you had a great time and were treated well. Also hoping your Wildcats do great for the rest of the year.

If I remember correctly AU is supposed to visit KSU in Manhattan next year. That is one game I will try to attend.

War Eagle - Go Cats!

I think it may be 2014-- so you have plenty of time to plan. ;)

I'm thinking we might have a few MNCs by then. B)

I thought it was pretty cool too, but I kept expecting to hear them singing "We are the Titans" both times they left the field like that. Great concept though and I truly expect to see the Wildcats have a very good season.
