If all coaches were fair game, Steve Spurrier. But I don't think he would even be a possibility. South Carolina is where he wants to stay.

It really depends on the school.

Pete Carroll has done a great job at USC. Would Pete Carroll be a great coach in the SEC? I don't really think so.

Could Bear Bryant have been as successful at UCLA?

Steve Spurrier was phenomenal at Florida - he's average at South Carolina.

Since I'm only affiliated and knowledgeable about Auburn, I would have to be at that school. If Tuberville were to magically vanish, I would have to go with Tom Osborne. He did things the right way and was a consistent winner. Even though I'm not a big fan of watching the option, I think Osborne did one of the best jobs in the history of college football.

If I had to go with coaches who are coaching today, I'd go with Jim Tressel. He reminds me a lot of Tuberville. They're both smart coaches who are consistent with their values.

For Auburn... I'd have to go with Spurrier also. Reason? He's an offensive mastermind and would attract top tier QB's and WR's. I'm guessing AU's offensive totals would be better than 103rd out of 119 D1 schools. The defense, under Muschamp, is already "there".
