LegalEagle 22
Well, I've seen it all now. THIS JUST IN: "Speculation about Tuberville coming to Arkansas intensified when a private plane registered to David Griffin flew from Tunica, Miss., to Rogers Municipal Airport on Thursday morning. The plane then flew to Auburn, presumably to pick up Tuberville and take him to his hunting trip in West Helena. The plane landed in Tunica at 12:33 p.m. Thursday. Griffin, a farmer, tried to lure Tuberville to Arkansas in 1997 before Nutt got the job." http://arkansas.scout.com/2/706817.html OK, first question - "A farmer" - What the heck does he grow that provides him with a plane? What's the goin' price for pork? I think they grow at least one "crop" in AK that will get you off the ground. Reckon' Ol' Lowder can crank up the Colonial Bread Jet and fly it around the Southeast to set up a smoke screen? Tubs goes duck hunting at this time every year. I don't know how he travels, or if this is different, but when a farmer picks up a coach to go hunting I'm thinking dead ducks, not contracts. If this is all you've got, I guess you run with it. P.S. - I like farmers. This is not meant as a jab at them.

warjacket 0
P.S. - I like farmers. This is not meant as a jab at them. It was a jab. Did you know most combines run over $1M? Something not right about a poster with "Legal" in his name questioning how a farmer can have money for a plane when he supposibly pulls for the state's primary Ag school. Either AU has gotten to far removed from what made it great long ago or someone needs to check the bandwagon.
otterinbham 0
Here's another piece of the puzzle to think over. At the Waffle House this morning, Connie the waitress came over to CTT's table and poured him another cup of coffee WITHOUT BEING ASKED. Then, Connie, a huge Razorback fan, asked CTT if he's going to coach for Arkansas next year. Coach Tuberville said, "Oh, I really don't want to talk about that, Connie. Can I have some more sugar, please?" Don't you get it, people? CTT was talking in code! By asking for sugar, Tuberville was telling both the Auburn and Arkansas athletic departments that they needed to sweeten their offers! Good God, it's as plain as the nose on your face. Do you have any "facts" to back up this statement. And, if you are right, then, how the hell can he have a combine or two AND a frickin' PLANE? Wait! I get it, most combines that also fly cost over $1M! I'll agree with that. "supposibly"?? How can you doubt? (if that is what "supposibly" means.) Pass the boiled peanuts! We have a tractor in our lab, on loan from John Deere, that retails for about $250K... and its not a big one.
otterinbham 0
Oh. And here's another hint that we can glean from this article. Notice carefully that CTT decided to switch from ducks to deer. That's very significant. Why? Because CTT and his assistants wanted to bring down some big bucks. See? That's more CTT codespeak for "I'm all about the money." I cannot believe you are so blind as to not see this.
tony-da-tiger 0
Farm equipment is quiet expensive. (Ag major) I know of several large farms/farmers (over 5,000 acres )that have private planes. So its not that unusal. In addition many farms/farmers double income by providing custom hunting during the winter months. Again not unusal. combine with no header http://www.fastline.com/Results.aspx

I don't know what "ag" he is into but apparently it does pretty good. The price of equipment is ridiculous, though that much is true. 250,000 for a harvester without a head on it is nuts. But of course most of those are capable of driving themselves while the operator sips a latte while browsing the internet in air conditioned comfort...... j/k. That said, big whoop, these guys are old friends gone hunting. Have a good time CTT and staff!

It is well known that Tommmy Tuberville was seen at an Arkansas Wal-Mart buying shotguns shells. Obviously, since Wal-Mart has a huge link to the Razorbacks, what he was really trying to say was, "I need a high caliber offer to come and coach for you, you bunch of knuckle draggin' hayseeds." I'm going to stop there. This one wasn't as funny as the first two. Maybe it's because I just ate lunch. My best work is done in the morning. The roar of the Arky crop duster made it difficult to make out what he said, but the Opelika Daily Wiper reported he said something about being glad to be back in Auburn and would never leave again - ducks or no ducks. The Arky Illegible Press, on the other hand, reported Tubs to have said "I'm kissin' your Alabama @ss goodbye - I'm off to Arkyland! - ducks and more ducks." Too bad Tubs didn't just write it down and give each one a copy - We'd know the straight skinny, and the Arkies wouldn't know a thing.
