Auburn's Tuberville set for tour of Middle East bases

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville will visit military bases in the Middle East in late May, the school announced Wednesday.

Tuberville will make the trip with Mark Richt of Georgia, Randy Shannon of Miami, Jack Siedlecki of Yale and Charlie Weis of Notre Dame.

The tour, the school said, is a first for NCAA football and Armed Forces Entertainment. The college coaches will participate in meet and greets at various bases, as well as coach flag football teams made up of servicemen and women. The coaches will visit Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, according to Armed Forces Entertainment.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to spend time with the troops in the Middle East," Tuberville said. "They have made so many sacrifices to help protect our country and this is a small way that I, along with the other coaches on the tour, can say 'thank you.' I know we'll get to visit with a lot of college football fans and hope to see several Auburn Tigers along the way."

I'm sure the rumor mill (guess where the rumors all come from?) will have Tuberville interviewing somewhere. Maybe Army, Navy or Air Force?
