It is a sad day for me

Man. I'm sorry. My daughter is 13. Father to father here, do you polish your shotgun when the boys arrive at the door? Does that help things? I'm thinking of buying one.

My oldest child...my baby girl turns 16 today. :sad2:

I'm sure you've taught her well, right from wrong, and with a possible misstep or two, she'll do fine. You'll really miss those "sugars" though.

So R12, she getting a car? Vette? :)

You will get through this. Em turned 16 and, other than a few mail boxes getting their comeuppance, everything went fine...

Mine turns three in 5 months and I'm already researching ways to slow the aging process.

Despite your back problems, Ranger, given your military background, sounds like there may also be sad days ahead for any of her potential suiters! B)

I am a getting the camp fortified and make sure all the weapons and equipment are ready for any possible enemy combatants. The tough thing is that she lives with her mom, so I can't be there all the time and mom tends to be a little too soft sometimes.

All I know is that whenever I boy comes to my house, I will make sure my shadowbox that has all my medals, ribbons, patches, and tabs will be displayed where the little punk can't help but see it. If he has any doubts about who's little girl he is messing with, that will help to remind him.

She is not getting a car yet. Heck, I don't know when she will get her license. She failed the permit test twice before finally passing it. Her mom has tried to teach her how to drive, but that is like trying to teach the Three Stooges trying to teach somebody how to paint. I have offered several times to teach her, but according to my daughter, I would make her too nervous. <_<

I was not able to see her today because of school and she lives about an hour away with her mom. But I did send her some flowers to school and she said they made her cry.

Well, I hate she's crying, hopefully she wasn't expecting condoms! :poke:

Yeah, you don't have to bring anything either. I'm bringing the chairs and Tex is bringing fish to "snack" on. :big:

Question. At the NAOF meeting will there be door prizes? :homer:

If it's just another meeting of fathers watchin' Girls Gone Wild videos looking for their daughters, well why bother? All teenage daughters who have been to Spring Break are in those. :roflol: But you'd never think the neighbor's kid would be in one - wrong!

Ranger: Leslie and I don't have kids yet so we can't honestly say that we know how you feel, but from the way we would expect to feel, we do feel for you. Now on the flip side she was reading this over my shoulder and got a good laugh out the bold comments.

She did suggest that you might want to keep a really big knife within arms reach when she brings one of the little punks..er, I mean potential suitors home and have a spade in the corner.

Oh! Is that the reason grown men watch those things? I didn't realize...

SLink, that is what you get for being a son instead of a daughter.

I was the oldest child and my brother was the middle, then our sister was the youngest. With her being the youngest and the only daughter, she had double the advantage. My brother and I used to get so ticked off with the fact she seemed to get by with much more then we ever did. My brother now has two girls only a couple of years apart and not son. I tell him all the time that I feel for him when my nieces become teenagers.

Now, as a father of a daughter and a son, I now see why fathers tend to be more lenient on their daughters. Girls are so much more sensitive, that we are afraid for running them off or pushing them away from us. With our sons, we raise them to be tough and we know we can ride them harder without worrying about losing them. However, it is a very fine balancing act because you can be too lenient on your daughter and too strict on your son and it all backfire on you. Of course, we can still only raise them as best we can and not matter how well they are raised, they are going to still make their own mistakes. As parents, we just pray that the severity of those mistakes are kept to a minimum.
