From the article:

"We did not hear anybody say they intended to kill her, but could they have accidentally killed her? Absolutely," Tanner said. "We feel like if they weren't interrupted, there would have been an attempt. Would they have been successful? We don't know."

The children, ages 8 and 9, were apparently mad at the teacher because she had scolded one of them for standing on a chair, Tanner said.

"It’s our understanding that she did in fact discipline one of the students, and they did not like it, he told FOX News. "After that, she began to plot revenge on the teacher."

Tanner told FOX News not all of the students were in on all the details of the allegedly plot.

"We believe that some of them knew the entire plot and some of them were ... just asked to bring other items in but they might not have realized the entire plot," he said.

I wonder sometime why my wife teaches. I'm telling you it takes a special person to teach. She had to go through something like this. She had a little girl in her class that was crying one day. When Leslie asked her what was wrong the girl said "I can't tell you" so Leslie took her out in the hall and asked her if she was ok and needed to go see the nurse and the girl told her "that the voices in her head were telling her to hurt her and other students" so she sends the girl to the nurses office and immediately calls administration and they check the girls bag and found a pair of scissors that were brought from home. Not much to them but still enough that they could inflict some serious damage. Another time (3 years ago) she patted a little boy on the back for making a good grade when came to get his paper and he flinched. The next day the little boy came in without his homework and when she questioned him about not having it he cried and said he didn't have time b/c his mom and dad wouldn't let him come down to get his bookbag. Once again she patted him on the back and told him it was ok that he could do it later and he flinched again. She called him out in the hall and asked him if his back was hurt and he said he didn't want to talk about it. She asked if he would feel better talking to the principal about it and he said yes. After his visit with the principal it came to light that the parents had been beating him with a Mag Light and locking him in his room. :puke: What kind of human would hit a 10 year old kid with a Mag Light? Later on she asked the boy if things were ok and his response was "dad told me what happens at home can't be told at school" so you know that this is more than likely still going on.

I don't know why people want to go into this low paying, unappreciated career field, but God Bless them for doing it.

Amen! I would have called a parent teacher conference, locked the door and given the parents a mag lite beatdown.
