Did Tristin Davis lose a year of elligibility last year? Surely he could get a medical redshirt.

He already redshirted a year. I forget the rules, but I think that makes a difference somehow. Then he ended up playing later in the season. I believe there is some sort of rule that says you can only play up to x% (25%?) in the first three games or so. After that, you are ineligible. Someone else can certainly make this clearly than I. But no, he cannot gain a medical RS

I read in an article the other day and they referred to him as a Junior.. but he should be a senior. Either they messed up or he is still a Junior.

I'm pretty sure that this will be his last year. I'm almost positive I read that on this site at some point last fall when he broke his foot in practice. Everyone was wanting to know if he could get an extra year but several folks said no.

Phillip Marshall is a regular guest on the Sportscall radio show. When T. Davis got hurt last year, this question was asked. Marshall "looked into it", came back the next week and said Davis would not be eligible for a medical redshirt. I forget the exact rule, but the bottom line is that he cannot get a medical. That's why they went ahead and played him later in the season.
