Iron Bowl at 11:00am this year?

CBS has released the tentative schedule and they are planning on featuring UGA 5-6 times. They were on CBS 3 times last year to give you a reference. So, for the weekend of the Iron Bowl they are playin the UGA GT game at the late slot leaving the Iron Bowl to either be on 11:00 am or ESPN, but don't forget that Michigan and OSU have been moved to the same weekend.

Thoughts?

It's April...

They won't make a decision on this until at least 2 weeks before.

I understand. That is why I said tentative. My point was the over-exposure of UGA and the possibility.

That would suck. Woo yeah, I would rather watch UGA vs GT. Gimmie a frickin break.

11 a.m. kickoff in T-town sounds fine to me. You always give an advantage to the road team in an early kickoff IMO.

My first thought was "oh,no!" But after I calmed down, 11 am doesn't sound so bad. I think in Tuscalooser I'd rather have the game early. It probably wouldn't be to good of an idea to be out at night in Tuscalooser.

If you're worried about going up against Osu/Mich, that game will be the day/evening game on ABC like it is every year. If CBS takes the uga game, I'm sure ESPN will pick up the Iron Bowl.

Yeah, I think the OSU/Michigan game is all but guaranteed to be the ABC afternoon game, which would leave the ESPN night slot still open. You forget that ESPN/ABC have three channel options for the night time slots as well (if they choose to do the ABC in primetime which they rarely do).

It is WAY too early to know what's going to happen (totally plausible that Auburn is 10-1 coming off a win over UGA who is sitting at 9-3 and totally irrelevant in the East race... not saying it's going to, but it's not even remotely crazy).

It is way too early to fret over this but even ESPN isn't that dumb to pass up the Iron Bowl, especially since they like doing night games at Bryant-Denny.

Really, you might have to deal with an irate bama football player if you were driving by The Strip... B)

There is a possibility of over-exposure for any team in the SEC

If UGA keeps winning, they will get more CBS games

If AU keeps winning and climb up the ranking, you will get more CBS games

Now, I understand our high ranking helps us get early games but I think South Carolina would have gotten the CBS game anyway (though to be honest i dont know who you all play that day or anyone else), but I think any games past Week 5 are really a toss up

If AU goes through the season undefeated or with 1 loss, you all will get plenty of games on CBS. And, if AU/UA both do well, the Iron Bowl will be the #1 game picked

As for the UGA/Tech game, I doubt that game will be picked up by CBS considering Tech won't even go bowling this year.
