I gave up on that show a few seasons ago

I do watch the first 1-2 shows just to see the bad ones but lately I can see that people are intentionally being bad to get on TV while in the beginning people actually thought they were good when they were terrible

I like David C., mostly because he's the only one I can see actually having a successful career beyond AI. Archuleta is young and shy so I don't think he would sell very well.

It's not a who will do well in the future show. I was pulling for David C, but he picked the wrong songs and was only good, not great last night. To my utter surprise David A put on his best performances yet. David A has a larger following among those who vote, so I expect David A to win.

Both of these guys will sell records. I don't think we have to feel bad for the loser.

David A is 17. I just wonder what his age will be when he gets a DUI or drug arrest. He's got a tough life in front of him - but money will not be an issue for the foreseeable future.

Do any of you think David Cook threw the competition so he wouldn't be locked into a contract with AI's company? He's got to know he's set himself up in a great place right now and will easily sign a contract with someone.

From what I understand, 19 Entertainment gets first right of refusal for 1 year so all of the top 10 (or maybe 12) are locked in unless 19 releases them.

Doesn't matter, though since David Cook won. On that note, Taylor Hicks bought out the rest of his contract recently with 19 so he could do his own songs and do his own thing.

David Cook didn't just win, he won by a landslide. 56 to 44 percent or about 12 million votes. Dang.

After the debacle of voting Daughtry out early two years ago and the yawner of last year's winner, maybe the show regains some credibility after this. Cook was definitely the most talented.

I'm shocked, but very pleased. He showed such a range of voice, and he had personality and spunk. In some things, I guess voting can produce a good result!
