Haha so I just get another message that suggests that Green HASN'T committed yet...this may have been a bit premature.

Any word on who he hasn't committed to yet? :poke:

Yeah....Us beating out FSU for Top Recruits hasn't happened that many times either, especially if they're from Florida.

I too got that Txt today, saying that James Green had committed to Auburn. I started jumping around, I got home after work and went onto the ESPN website and it still had him listed as a commitment. It even stated that he spoke to an ESPN affiliate and said that he had committed to the Tigers.

I haven't checked my txts in a while....So, now they're saying....Oops, made a mistake? I've gone from giddy as a school girl to F***ing Pissed Off in the matter of a 10 seconds.

Tigers add another 150 Watch List talent, James Green (May21)

Wide receiver James Green has committed to Auburn over scholarship offers from several programs including South Carolina.

"It's true, I committed to them," the 6-foot-2, 200 pounder told ESPN affiliate Web site TheBigSpur.com.

ESPN's Tom Luginbill commented on the pickup, "Green is big and has great hands. He is guy that can make plays in the red zone and is dangerous underneath and over the middle of the field. What he lacks in great top end speed, he makes up for with good quickness for his size and some playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He can play inside or outside as well."

"Just as with Michigan, Auburn's new look on offense is very attractive to offensive skill players so it is no surprise that the Tigers are starting to lure player like Green to The Plains. With the three and four wide receiver sets becoming the norm, Auburn is starting to line up top wide receivers to add depth and make plays."

ESPN apparently has jumped the gun...

I think it would've been on Rivals had he committed.

mama says Rivals is the devil!

Mama was wrong son. Is there something wrong with your medulla oblongatta?

From some of the rumblings, it seems the kid wants to committ, and we would accept his committ if we genuinely thought he would committ and stick... but we aren't sure of that right now. Apparently we want to talk to him and have him spend some time on campus before we will believe he's ready to committ.

FWIW...

From what I hear is that JG will be coming up to AU in the next couple of weeks on a Un-official visit with his parents. How sweet do ya'll think it'll be when CTT shares some of his stories about the soldiers that he's visiting and shows them pictures?

Commit... Commit... one t...

"We would accept if he would commit and stick..." are you crazy? If we offer the kid, we'll take any commit. Coaches don't really "accept" commitments anyways. Even if it is "well, you are my favorite for today." That's how these kids are - commitments = favorites for a lot of kids. Very few make a solid commitment. Look at Enrique Davis for Pete's Sake (I know I know - Spread offense) or Jarmon Fortson who went to FSU. A true committed prospect would not visit other schools. When someone visits other schools (and I'm not talking - only to visit their friends), then the school they committed to is only a favorite.

Yes, the coaches would like to know how serious the commitment is in case they need to consider offering another scholarship to someone else, but they are likely to do that anyways. Look at Saban - he over signed. And most of the time, you don't fulfill all your scholarships. Coaches always offer more scholarships than they can sign.

I'll trust the coaches on this one.

De-commits just aren't good.

"Very few make a solid commit", is an idiotic statement.
