iam4LSU08 0
I am looking forward to 2008 College Football starting up. It looks like our 2 teams will be breaking in new quarterbacks for the September 20th game in Jordan-Hare Stadium. As for my Tigers, our quarterback will either be redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee from Brenham, Texas... or Andrew Hatch, a former walk-on and transfer from Harvard. What's the word on Auburn's new QB to replace Cox? Thanks and hoping the next 3 months go by quickly!
rolltoomer 0
Our QB choice is on-going. Sophomore Kodi Burns is a physical specimen, with some Tebow-esque talent. His passing has greatly improved according to off season reports, but most would say it's still suspect. He was responsible for two touchdowns in the Auburn defeat of Clemson in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl, one thrown and one run. This was in the new spread offense which was installed over a period of 9 practice days after the end of the regular season. The co-leader at QB is Chris Todd, a junior-college product by way of Texas Tech who has a history with our new offensive coordinator, Tony Franklin. Franklin recruited Todd to Troy when he was OC there and then was instrumental in his coming to Auburn. Todd played under the Franklin system in HS. If he can overcome a problematical shoulder, he will make a strong bid to be lead QB. Most think the QB job will be shared, regardless of who starts. The Auburn receiving corps has talent but has not been a major force the last couple of seasons. The tight ends are good.

Right now, on paper, I would give the QB advantage to Auburn. Burns at least has some game experience and Todd knows Coach Franklin's spread offense. It's tough for LSU to lose RP but i think in the long term you are bettter off. I think overall LSU has more talent and that can help offset the inexperience at QB early on. subterranean_jack 113
There hasn't been a beatdown in this game for a long time. It's going to be another nailbiter to the last tick of the clock. LSU has the best lines in the SEC, offense and defense. If Auburn wins, it's going to be close. I expect this to be the toughest game of the year for Auburn and probably the hardest hitting game in the SEC in 2008.
IslandTiger 0
LSU has the best lines in the SEC, offense and defense. I'd say this is a highly debateable statement-Nothing against LSU's talent on either side of the ball-you've got some studs coming back for sure but THE best O & D lines in the SEC??? I know a few guys that will be dressed in Orange and Blue that I'd put up against that call any day-Guess we'll have to wait a few more months to know for sure..... LSU returns one of the SEC's best OL but far from the most experienced, best DL LSU returns just 4 starters on D. Jackson and Pittman will be good Alexander, Woods, or Francois as much as my LSU friends Will it be good? Yes, I am not saying they will be bad but the "best"? I don't agree with that I would put UGA's DL against LSU's anyday with Battle, Owens, Atkins, Lomax/Weston all playing on the DL
