Trivia from 1995

My pastor met me today to ask who was Auburn's long snapper in 1995. I asked why and he said today's Sunday school lesson (standard SBC material I think) mentioned how this person was the slowest guy on the team but stuck with it because he wanted to play for Auburn. Said after the first year he got a scholarship for the remaining 3 years. Also said Jim Fyffe told him if he didn't have any bad snaps he'd vote for him for Heisman his senior year, which he fulfilled.

Funny thing about this was his name wasn't mentioned in the material. Anyone know who this is?

I think it was Brent Turner but I would have to check an old program to be sure.

I think his last year was 1993. There was an article in the 93 SI about him, Terry Daniels, and Ethridge.

I checked a 1995 program last night and although there wasn’t a depth chart for special teams Brent Turner was the only snapper listed. He also was a freshman so that seems to go along with the story. (He would have snapped from 1995-98)
