"A True Believer"

First of all........let me start off by saying that I am a true believer to the core.

I believe that the 2008 Auburn Tigers will be the best football team in the land. I believe that this is true on and off the field. I believe that I can honestly give this University, This Coach, His Coaches and This Team great accolades for the following "hypothetical" accomplishments.

2008

The Story of These Tigers

By Jason Allen Christopher(a.k.a. AUBURNJAC)

The air is hot. The atmosphere is catostrophic to bad hearts and sore losers. The timing is right. The place and the time for things to click turns to fruition.

The ball is snapped and Kody Burns runs 9 yards to bring the anticipation of the 2008 campaign into this world.

Three quarters and fourteen and one half minutes go by and the score is 41-0, Auburn.

Hopes and dreams throughout the state of Alabama are dashed. The hopes and dreams that the plainsmen would be embarassed as the Crimson Tide were a mere 10 months before. However, many other hopes and dreams were engaging in great conversation talking about "how great these Tigers appear to be".

Fast forward to November.........................................................

Many O' Tiger fans are still trying to figure out how we are about to play Bama for the Seventh year in a row without stumbling. Ahh, the Friday before the game. The air is crisp. There are rebel yells as far as the ear can reach screaming...."WAR EAGLE" or "ROW TAHD". These are the rebel yells of the greatest rivalry in college football. AUBURN VS. ALABAMA.

On to December and as the story unfolds, Auburn is in Atlanta. The Tigers are hungry and the Gators are hunting, and one will come away with a mouth full of pride. For the winner of this game will exit the SEC 2008 Unscathed.

As January approaches and the undefeated 2008 Auburn Tiger prepare for battle against an 11-1 USC team from California, everybody in the country can see the determination and "believe" in every one of the Orange and Blue eyes in the city.

As the crystal footbal is handed over, and the 2008 season finally comes to a close, one team will come out on top. That team is...............The 2008 Auburn Tigers.

WAR DAMN EAGLE! :au:

Great first post rcgroom! Have you ever heard of Wishful Thinkin'? Is your coffee mug half empty this morning? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed? Did your wife forget to kiss you on your way out the door this morning? ;)

Nice post. That's about what I think. If we go to Atlanta, we'll play Florida, not Georgia. One team in the BCS championship game will at least be USC. Hopefully we'll be undefeated, but I'm not holding my breath. We have a great chance for huge success this year, but I doubt we'll make it through unscathed.

Of course, that's no reason not to be optimistic. Especially with the potential of this team.

Dude, I appologize for being an optimistic person! Also, for writing anything about "your university". I just check my diploma from what I thought was Auburn, and you're right! Holy crap, it clearly states "dcgroom university". My Bad! B)

All I'll say is, I think this team has a shot of winning an SEC title. I also think the SEC is, by far, the best conference in the country. If you have a chance to win the SEC, you have a chance to win the national title b/c there isn't a jump from one to the other. The SEC champ (whoever it may be) is one of the two best teams in the country. Period. That doesn't mean you get to play for it, but 8 out of 10 years (maybe more) you're one of the two best teams, which means you actually deserve a shot. Since I think Auburn has a shot at the SEC title, I think Auburn has a shot at the national title, and I don't call that wishful thinking in the least.

UGA, UF, Auburn, and LSU (in that order) all have a shot at the SEC/National title. I don't think anyone else is really a threat to win the SEC, even if someone surprises and wins a division. For example, Arkansas won the West two years ago, but they were not a threat. Both Auburn and LSU were actually better teams (over the course of the year) and posed a bigger threat to Florida. This year, four teams in the SEC have legit, non-wishful, national title hopes.

RCGROOM haha, its clearly printed on the bottom right corner. Was anyone else shocked to see that the diploma was so huge? I like it, it was just a shock.

Wishful thinking, being optimistic is different than being cocky and arrogant is all I'm saying. I love you.
