Good stuff as always.

You've probably posted it on here before, but do you have the same stat for Auburn in 07? I'm guessing it looked much, much different.

It seems that at Troy, CTF passed more than ran in order to score/get ahead. The stats tell me that once ahead, he ran more in order to prevent turnovers and preserve the lead. Does anybody know the caliber/style of running backs and run blockers available at Troy last year? It seems that they relied on the pass to get the offense going. How much of that run attempts/yardage was by the Qb. Did the Qb run more prior to being up 17 points or after up by 17? My guess is that the Qb ran more prior to being up by 17 than after.

I would also expect that while at Troy, he would have to throw the ball more due to the schedule he was up against. He did not have the horses up front to run against the bigger schools. Passing can be a great equalizer for a short time and sometimes can give you a great advantage if you can score quickly. I believe that we will see his numbers almost reversed with our OL. And when we do get a 17 point lead, I don't expect to see too many balls in the air, that is CTT's philosophy.

Tuberville has reiterated that this team will still be run first. There will still be more run plays than pass plays and the pass plays will increase only because there will be more plays run.

Tony has no problem with this. Tubs lets him do his thing as long as he follows the rule that running comes first.

Troy tore us apart at UGA

Their WR's absolutely owned our secondary

480+ yards of offense against us

Typical Willie Martinez performance

Troy didn't necessarily run the ball always because they were in the lead, in fact, they ran a lot during the course of the entire game. Their quarterback Omar Haugabook was a running quarterback and was the second leading rusher on the team. from what I have seen from CTF is that he won't follow the run first pass second rule. He does more of a run to open up the pass or vice versa depending on the situation. That is why I believe he is so effective. He reads what he needs to do and calls the plays accordingly. Look at the 3rd and 6 play during the Chick bowl. Brandon Cox quarterback draw, that was the absolute last thing anyone expected. I think Franklin has a very good idea of when to run or pass, and that is where the balance comes from.

Bingo! He has already stated there will be games we will pass it 50 times and games where AU will run 50-60 times. Whatever it takes to score points and win is the goal.
