Hello everyone and WDE! Long time lurker who wanted to tell everyone that this is hands down the best forum on the internet. Has anyone noitced that the LA-Monroe game has already got a game time set for 6 pm CST? Has this game already been set for PPV? Any information would be awesome.

I don't think PPV games have been decided this early. I am glad it's going to be a late evening game since it will probably be hot.

All early season games will be at night if possible because of the heat. UTM will be at 1:30 pm if I'm not mistaken. Homecoming is almost always in the early afternoon.

But yes, the gametime for La Monroe has been more or less set for 6 pm. According to Tuberville, ESPN WILL pick up the LSwho game for a 7:05 pm kickoff, although apparently, official word won't be out just yet. I wish they'd hurry up and do it before the season starts so CBS can't get their hands on it.

As discussed earlier, CBS has priority - that's probably why they haven't decided yet. If CBS wants it - it's theirs. If ESPN has first pick (which I don't think they do), then they don't have to worry about CBS taking it.

Either way it shakes out, that is going to be one awesome day of :sec: football. I would like to see a :lsu: vs :au: night game. Hasn't happened since 2000. (Go Tim Carter!) Anyways, that is a very big game that takes a very big step towards Atlanta.

I've heard that the ULM game will probably be on PPV, but there's no guarantees at this point.

And ESPN does have at least one trump of CBS. Last year Auburn/LSU was the highest rated game on ESPN and Auburn/UF was the 2nd highest. SO everyone's expecting ESPN to take the game again this year as long as Auburn and LSU are in the positions we expect them.

Again, Tuberville said that ESPN told them that they would take it for a 7:05 kickoff. Both teams SHOULD be in the top ten. LSwho plays nobody, so they'll be 3 and 0. We have one sorta tough game against MSU, but I think revenge will be on our guys' minds for that one. If we start 10th or even 11th, and LSwho starts 2 or 3 spots behind us, as they probably will, I could see us both being top ten for this one.

ESPN will take us like they took the Auburn Florida matchup in '06. I think there's a good chance that Gameday will be there too. That stadium will be rockin that night! I can't wait!

Man I can't wait for this one! LSU at home is always my favorite game of the year. BAMA/UGA, are second (probably just b/c they are both so late in the year).

I always thought Jordan Hare Stadium being "the jungle" was a bit gay. It seems like they were trying to force a name like "the swamp" or "death valley". It just doesn't fit. In my eyes it will always Jordan Hare Stadium plain and simple. I hope is neither considered "the jungle" nor will my feelings be hurt if another riff of that G-N-R song is never broadcast over the PA system in Jordan Hare.

I'm with you Champ, I think "the Jungle" was pretty cool. A little gimmicky, but it was alright. I wish they could put "Welcome to the Jungle" on the Upper Decks below the ribbon boards in the same style as those other light ups - Pat Dye Field and Jordan-Hare Stadium. I think it would be a cool addition.

I only use "The Jungle" when I'm being sarcastic. It's dumb, not rooted in any kind of tradition, and I'm glad it's fading away. The Tigers play on the Plains... we've got enough nicknames and tradition without trying to copy other people.

I'm with kwag on this one. Probably wouldn't use the term 'gay' but something like lame fits the bill. "The jungle" was forced, the swamp makes sense for obv reasons, death valley is cool cause the playing field is below sea level. Play the song, its cool, gets people pumped up but I don't think we need a forced nickname.

No. Eye of the tiger, yes. The fight song, of course. Bottagetta chants, for sure. Waaaaar Eagle, you bet. Those were all sights and sounds from my childhood days and how Auburn has always been. Sure the eagle flying was not there, but it is an elaboration of Tiger being on the sidelines AND (most importantly) not a copy of something else.

A little gimmicky,

That is my main beef with it.

Maybe I'm too old-school or traditional. Oh well so be it.
