Auburn is off to an extraordinarily fast start in football recruiting, maybe the fastest ever. Already, 11 players have said publicly they plan to sign with Auburn in February.

Some are rated highly by recruiting services and some aren't, but all were high on Auburn's list. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been offered so early in the process.

Here's a brief look at each of Auburn's commitments:

Terrence Coleman

Defensive end

6-1, 251

Williamson High School, Mobile

The nephew of Auburn defensive end Antonio Coleman, Coleman had 116 tackles and nine sacks as a junior. Coleman was Auburn's first commitment.

Eltoro Freeman

Linebacker

6-0, 218

Mississippi Gulf Coast CC/Benjamin Russell High

As a freshman at Gulf Coast, Freeman had 65 tackles, 43 of them unassisted, and 17 tackles for losses. He had five sacks and forced two fumbles. He was All-State and All-Region in helping Gulf Coast share the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship. He originally signed with Auburn out of high school.

Jamontay Pilson

Defensive end

6-2, 258

Greenville High School

Pilson was in on 97 tackles, 50 unassisted, as a junior. He had 12 sacks. He said he made his decision after visiting Auburn for the A-Day game.

Raymond Cotton

Quarterback

6-4, 220

Faith Academy, Mobile

Cotton will play his senior season at Fort Meade (Md.) High School. As a junior at Faith Academy, he passed for 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns. He rushed for 670 yards and eight touchdowns. He moved to Fort Meade when his father, an officer in the United States Coast guard, was transferred.

Harris Gaston

Linebacker

6-3, 210

Bessemer Academy

Gaston was in on 112 tackles as a junior. He played linebacker, defensive end and safety in helping Bessemer Academy to the AISA state championship. He has been a starter since the ninth grade.

Brandon Heavens

Wide receiver

5-10, 170

Bessemer Academy

Heavens was the AISA Back of the Year as junior. He had 1,236 receiving yards. He rushed for 730 yards and had 485 yards on kickoff returns and 568 on punt returns.

Wilfred Journet

Defensive end

6-2, 250

Acadiana (La.) HS/Copiah-Lincoln JC

Journet was the 5A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at Acadiana (La.) High School. He had 145 tackles, 24 sacks and 40 tackles for loss. He blocked six kicks and scored three touchdowns on defense. Journet redshirted as a freshman at Copiah-Lincoln and will have three years of eligibility at Auburn.

Philip Lutzenkirchen

Tight end/Linebacker

6-4, 240

Lassiter HS, Marietta, Ga.

Lutzenkirchen had 46 catches for 496 yards and seven touchdowns as a juior. On defense, he was in on 48 tackles, intercepted a pass and blocked a punt.

Nick Fairley

Fairley redshirted as a freshman at Copiah-Lincoln and is expected to play both defensive end and defensive tackle next season. As a senior at Williamson, Fairley stood out on both sides of the ball. He caught five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown as a tight end. He was in on 90 tackles on defense.
