We touched on a lot of things for a story to come later, but I found particularly interesting what he said about Tony Franklin's spread offense. "It's hard for defenses," Ziemba said. "It's pass, pass, screen, run, run, screen, pass. We have so many things that hide what we are going to do. It makes it very hard for the defense to guess what we are doing. You can't read the offensive line. There are so many things we do, but it's still very simple where everybody understands what to do on every play. The defense thinks it's crazy and we're doing so much stuff, but we're actually not." Ziemba laughed at loud at the notion that Auburn's offense will not be physical. "That's stupid," Ziemba said. "Anytime Coach (Hugh) Nall is part of an offense, it's going to be physical. Just because we're in a two-point stance doesn't mean we aren't coming off the ball. It's still Auburn football. We're still going to run the ball down people's throats, but we're going to have a good passing game, too." Any questions or arguments? If so, please address them to Mr. Ziemba in person.
