That is what this is ALL about and up until now, Richt keeps calling his bluff. He ALREADY got a raise this year of almost 70k+ so Richt ain't moving off that.

Tennessee is sure spending the big $$$$$$ for assistants, Ogeron getting $700,000 for recruiting coordinator. That will set the stage for the next round in the arms race in college football. Look at CWM at Texas, $1 million for DC & HCIW.

I don't blame Gardner for trying to get all he can while he can. But if he just got a significant raise and is now looking for another,,,,,,,,,,, yeah I can see how that wouldn't sit well.

If Jacobs was telling the truth about $$$$ being no object, and not having to pay Chizik a leg and an arm to get him, there's no reason why we can't get a high profile D coordinator. Also, I'm ready for him to begin to keep some promises about some Auburn people on staff. Them (Garner, Rocker, Searles, et al) not coming, concerns me some.

Why would it concern you? All he can do is offer the job ,And if they don't come .

How many of them were Auburn men anyway? I would love to have some of them too.

But that doesn't mean we won't or can't have a damn good staff.

And right now he is kicking some serious a** . CGC has done a better so far than I hoped for.

He's going after big name Asst coach's. Tubb's never did that. He was afraid they would get the credit.

This is the second thread you've posted this on. Chizik made no such promises. There was speculation on message boards that there might be some Auburn people on staff. That is it. If he ends up not hiring any former AU coaches or players, he's not done anything wrong so stop banging that drum.

It makes little if any difference to me if coaches hired have auburn ties or not. You don't pick coaches based on school ties. I would like to have had searles, but hey.
