Get ready for a BLOWOUT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark it down... Florida will destroy Choklahoma tonight.

1. Oklahoma's defense is terrible.

Oklahoma has the 10th best defense Florida has faced this season in both scoring defense and total defense (#62 in Total Defense). Hawaii is actually #63 so they are one spot off from being the 11th best defense the Gators have faced all season long. In other words, Florida should move the ball at will on them.

2. Florida's defense is great.

By far the best defense Oklahoma will have faced all year long. They won't know what hit them. It's likely Bradford will face pressure for the first time all season long.

3. Florida's offense is great.

Believe it or not, Florida's offense is the best offense Oklahoma will have faced all season long when it comes to Scoring Offense. Yes that's right.... better than Texas', Texas Tech's, Oklahoma State's, and Missouri's.

4. The Big 12 is overrated.-Texas struggled to beat Ohio State when they came in a fairly big favorite.

-Texas Tech lost to Ole Miss when they came in a very big favorite.

-Oklahoma State lost to Oregon when they came in a favorite.

-Missouri needed overtime to beat Northwestern after they came in a very big favorite.

So far, all 4 Top 25 Big 12 teams who have played in a bowl game have lost against the Vegas spread. I see no reason why that won't continue tonight.

5. Home Field Advantage.

The game is in Miami. Generally in bowl games, about 1/4 of the stadium is reserved for each team. The other 1/2 of the tickets are pre-sold to the public early on. Which means most of these tickets were bought up by people in South Florida months ago.... the general public, corporations, etc.

Oklahoma will still have a large group of fans, but I would expect the Gators to have at least 60% of the crowd.... probably even a bit more.

6. Oklahoma ALWAYS chokes.

Oklahoma has lost their last 4 BCS Bowl games... by an average of 16 points each time. They entered 3 of those 4 games as a double-digit favorite. The one other time they came in as an underdog, they lost by 36 points. They are an underdog again this season, and I would expect a similar result.

If Florida wins by less than 20 points, I'll be shocked. In fact, my predition is:

Florida 41

Oklahoma 10

I am not THAT confident, but I say:

:uf: 31

OU 17

I think UF wins, but I don't think it'll be a blowout unless you consider the LSU/OU championship game a blowout. OU was never a threat in that game, but the final score completely deceives anyone looking back at the game. Seriously, I remember that as a non-competitive game, thought LSU won that game by 20, and was shocked to see it was a 7 point game. Weird.

I think it'll be close early. UF will go up just before half. OU will look average in the second half as the hits on Bradford (and the rest of the receivers) starts to take its toll, and UF "pulls away" late.

My prediction: lower scoring game than expected (30 points wins it easily), tight for a half, un-spectacular game even with a close score.

I think Oklahoma will give a better accounting of themselves than several of you think, but I also think that Florida will end up winning and their special teams will be a big reason why. That to me is the most glaring difference between the teams...Florida's special teams are excellent and OU has been bad in kick coverage all year. I think the Gates will either block a punt or return a kick for a TD.

38-27 Florida.
