AUman43 5
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3825882 I hope they pull this off because it would eliminate a lot of this posturing, commiting and decommiting by these spoiled NCAA football recruits and mean less headaches for the coaches. Things have obviously gotten out of hand. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/55364-american-football-coaches-association-makes-a-play-for/ Share on other sites
Tigermike 4,309
I can see both sides of this. Suppose a kid signs with a school during the early signing period and then the coaching staff are fired, resign or quit to take a job at another school. Would the signee be required to stay with the first signing? If so would that really be fair to the kid. This is a big decision for these young men and they would be well advised to take all their visits before making a decision. That is unless they know with no reservations that they want to attend a particular school. In that case they can sign, enjoy their SR year and make their grades. But suppose they don't pan out in HS? Suppose they don't progress the way it was expected by the coaches? Sometimes the kids make a commitment to a coach and then realize they really would be better off or happier at another school. What then should they be bound to a school by a high pressure coach getting them to sign early?
