"The visit went great," added Gloria Patterson, Pat's mother. "They have a lot to offer. Alabama has a pretty good Architect program, and that is one of the majors that Pat is looking at."

So, when if the kid signs up for "Art" classes, do they tell him that it's short for ARchiTect?

He's probably talking about the Construction Engineering program or he misspoke. Big whoop.

He? The quote was from his mother. But you may be right she could have confused Architect with Construction Engineer if she has the same attention to detail that you have just displayed.

You must mean, Big Whopper. The mother talked about Architecture, her son's intended major. Nothing was said about Construction Mgt. How in the world do you get a "misspoke" about something as plain as day? Spin much?

one time my mom told some people at work i was going off to tank training for 2 weeks, when actually i was going to a Field Hospital and taking a Humvee and 2 1/2 ton truck driving course.

You know, there are some obvious jokes here relating lying/"mispeaking", lawyers, and one program they do have: The Crapstone School of Law.

...but in deference our barristers here on AUN, I'll leave that to others. :big::poke:

That is just a way of restating "building science" (proud grad here) therefore being able to accept some of the funding that was going solely to AU.

You guys missed it. About 40% of the Bama team is now taking classes under General Studies in the old Home Ec Dept. They were probably talking about the Architecture of a Ginger Bread House...

What? I thought they would all be majoring in pre-med or pre-law? I mean, they changed the grades of several to MAKE them eligible in the first place, surely if they are struggling in a class, the grades will be changed inside their own university. For that, you might as well be an attorney or doctor. They'll change the grades for you anyway.

Yeah, they decided to skip right past the Sociology Dept.

Did anyone else here notice the number of players, that played in the Bowl Games, that listed Sociology as their major?

I hate even talking about this. Let me live in delusion that football players actually go to college to get real degrees.

Whether it is Sociology or Family and Domestic Sciences (Home Ec) Huie is looking more and more profound.

Probably because a lot of them want to go into Law Enforcement. That's placed in the Sociology Department of most Universities.

Law Enforcement? ...based on Bama's off-field problems over the last couple of years, wouldn't that be called "scouting the enemy"? :big::poke:

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
