TitanTiger 22,262
Well, congrats. You've burned your bridges and spat in your family's face. Burn your Auburn stuff. You're not welcome back. Just realize this...Bama fans will laugh right now because you got us good. And they'll slap you on the back and talk nice to your face. But they will never trust you. Because even they know that if you'll pull at crappy stunt like this on your alma mater this close to signing day, they'll be next. So no matter what you do, you'll never be one of them. Sad thing is, you're no longer one of us either. And when little Nicky decides to move on to his next gig, don't expect them to be beating down the doors of the new coach imploring him to do whatever it takes to keep you. You're just a mercenary and a traitor, and according to at least one recruit, a liar. Nice job. Thanks for nothing. auwallace 6
that is what perhaps pisses me off the most about this. every single auburn fan around was begging jacobs and chizik to keep willis. he will never again be an auburn tiger, but sadly i don't think he gives a crap. Ranger12 53
Normally I would suggest this was a bit too much of a knee jerk reaction and cooler heads need to prevail before making such a post, however... I completely agree with it this time!!! When you make comments about being and Auburn man and being there when they need you, then leave for our biggest rival right before signing day, I really can't think of any way to justify that Mr. Willis. Me too. The top two things that irritate the **** out of me about this are 1. That he would do this 2 weeks before signing day. That tells me it's not about "providing for his family", it's personal and he wanted to stick it to us. 2. That it was the Auburn family that bombarded Chizik and Jacobs with emails and phone calls to keep him on staff. He can kiss my ass. AUman43 5
I'm just so damned mad and pissed off that I shouldn't post anything...so I won't. :-( I will say that somebody (Chizik or Jacobs) should pay for this. PChamp119 96
It won't matter how long Saban stays. As soon as Muschamp is the head man at Texas he will head there. When Willis was "fired" by Chizik when he was first named head coach, I said it was stupid and everyone said "well he will likely end up going somewhere else in a year or two anyways." It's not about leaving in the future for a better job. That's completely fine. But this situation is completely different. To leave next December for a DC position at Texas or a LB position at Texas A&M to be back with Tuberville is fine. There is nothing wrong with that. But to accept a job re-newal position with your alumni and then bolt for the biggest rival two weeks prior to signing day is just unacceptable. Two completely different scenarios. There is nothing wrong with leaving at the end of the season for a better position. But a lateral position with the heated rival right before signing day is not right. Proud Tiger 4,261
We have some idiots as BOTs and a guy as our AD who started all this mess to begin with by firing Tubs. Jacobs has also demonstrated his lack of honor by not keeping his promise to Clinton Durst. So why isn't anyone spewing any venom toward these people? Notice all the bammers lurking on the board eating all this up? They have probably long forgot that Dye, Hall, Callaway, Oliver and T. Bowden all jumped ship at bama to come to Auburn. TitanTiger 22,262
I've heard the stories on Durst. That's a tough situation. xCTT reportedly said he was going to put Durst on scholarship. When Chizik came in, he didn't want to do that for whatever reason and Jacobs didn't get involved even though he knew of xCTTs promise. Durst can't afford to pay for school so he's going to end up transferring. All that said, I do remember some similar situations back when xCTT came to Auburn. He pulled some scholarships from at least a couple of players he didn't think fit what he wanted to do or he didn't think they were SEC caliber or something. Ryan Sanders 123
Oh well. We had great defenses before he got to Auburn.. and we will continue to have them. He really should have waited till after signing day.. Especially going to Alabama. What does that say to recruits? That our own coach won't even stay at Auburn. Thats gonna hurt us. But we will survive. Anndd.. I thought we couldn't talk about rumors unless we have an article to back it up?? PChamp119 96
In the dark about what? I think I understand how college football politics work. I don't know all the ins and outs. But I have a few people on the inside over the years inform me of how some stuff works. And that includes your buddy Thomas Tuberville doing some not so "Auburn man" esque stuff. Whether it be true or not. But a lot of the stuff I have heard turned out to be true. I don't know why that would've not been true. But I'm not going to get into that. I know Auburn isn't perfect. I know our administration is far from it. But I will tell you this and there is no argument. If I was a coach, or a professor, or ANYTHING at Auburn... I wouldn't trade it for Bama for anything. That clearly was not the case for Mr. Willis. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/55623-to-coach-willis/#findComment-575140 Share on other sites
Mikey 16,781
"Durst can't afford to pay for school so he's going to end up transferring." WTF? He was here and paying for school when he walked on to the football team. His family have some setbacks or something? Anyway, it's hard to blame JJ for that. If the head coach (Chizik) thinks that one punter, Shoemaker, is enough punters on scholarship, that's his call. Of course, he could discontinue Shoemaker's scholly and put Durst on if he wanted to. Whatever, I don't see why JJ is being held responsible for what's clearly the head coach's decision.
