You may claim that you were "wronged" by coach Chizik. You may think that you were entitled to a severence check for keeping your job (which is the dumbest excrement i've ever heard). You may have gotten your feelings hurt because you felt like Chizik liked the other coaches more than you. But know this, you had the support and admiration of the entire Auburn fanbase during the transition between tubs and chizik. Some were even calling for you to move to DC. Like titan already said, if you had taken this move anywhere else, even UGA or LSU, we would have most assuredly patted you and the back and thanked you for your service. Instead you took a giant runny dump on all of your former fans and university. You will never be welcome back here. You better not even think about coming back to Jordan Hare when you are finished coaching to watch a game. You don't deserve to ever say War Eagle ever ever ever again. I hope to hell you fall flat on your face at bama. You are a lying backstabbing crybaby who deserves everything coming to you. May your career stink like the crap that flows from your lying traitorous mouth.

All I can add to that is this.

Apparently Mr. Willis forgot all the letters that were written and the phone calls that were made on his behalf during the Coaching transition and chose to turn his back on the Auburn nation. I say never let Mr. Willis back into the Auburn family. He made his choice and it's one he will live to regret just like Eric Ramsey did.

You know, I really don't care that he went and got all butt hurt over the other assistant hires getting more money than he did. He agreed to a raise in salary when he was rehired by Chizik. He thought it was a fair deal. Who cares if it took more money to lure a guy away from another school? It's not like we're talking about a bunch of working-class stiffs making $40,000 on the assembly line. He was making (after the raise) between $200,000 and $300,000 to be a position coach. And he doesn't live in Silicon Valley, he lives in Auburn. That kind of salary is anywhere from three to five times what most of us make for much more mundane jobs and goes quite a ways in this area.

I don't want to hear the poor old me stories or any crap about "taking care of his family." He's a backstabbing piece of s***. End of story.

Delete this if you must but know the truth! I believe that one of our assistants years ago named Dye came down and coached yall. Believe he had some success and in a nonpartisan kind of way I have always had respect for him, especially the class he shows. Now that being said, instead of tearing this guy apart, maybe yall should take a deep hard look at yourself and your program and ask what is going so wrong that he would make this decision?

I think the point is that it is fine to leave here, but no matter what is wrong you do not go to Alabama when you played at Auburn and Auburn has made you as a coach. Going anywhere else would cause only 5% of the anger and hurt feelings that he has generated. Going to Alabama can only mean that he never gave a crap about Auburn because anybody that did would know how this would make people feel.

Pat Dye was a Georgia alum, then was an assistant at Alabama. He then was a head coach at two other locations before coming to Auburn. That's a big difference, especially the part about being a Georgia alum and not directly going from Alabama to Auburn.

If I were you, I'd get out of this topic now. You are obviously clueless to this situation.

I guess I can understand that. But what if he really does well and maybe works his way up to being a coordinator and then a head coach. Then say, like maybe 5 years from now Chizik is out, would you not consider him a strong candidate for HC?

My point is he accepted a position, and a 100k raise to stay. He accepted the position and the pay raise. To leave a couple of weeks later, to a competitor, is a sh!tty way to handle yourself.

I don't know your role in your job, but if I hired an employee, he accepted, we gave him inside info and he participated in sensitive areas (i.e. recruiting), and then he up and left to work for a business competitor I would likely sue both him and the competitor for violation of the required non-compete agreements. I understand that a non-compete was not in place at this time, and there was nothing illegal about what he did - it was just slimy, lowdown, and dirty. But I don't expect you to understand. He should fit in well with the staff at bama.

I don't think that is a possibility because he went to Alabama. If he had gone anywhere else, then the answer would be "of course". But, now he will always be thought of as a traitor. He had to know this when he made this decision, or he is too dumb to be a head coach anyway.

first of all he will never be a DC at bama. And im willing to bet he will not be a bama long. University of Alabama has a problem with playing a Black QB you think that he will make it as a DC. And to answer your question about him coming back to Auburn, only to get the remainder of his stuff and close on his house when it sales.

You never heard anyone running down Ron Middleton when he went to bama. Coaches come and go in either direction and its usually not a problem. This situation is different in that two days ago Willis was in recruits homes recruiting for Auburn(and reportedly not speaking very highly of Alabama).

If this is the kind of man he is, he and Saban deserve each other.

I guess he got tired of competing with the REC money that is flowing all over Mobile and decided to be a part of it.
