No one is naive enough to think that no coaches recruit negatively, but there are plenty of coaches out there that go through their careers selling the good of their program and not tearing down others. Aren't you the least bit curious what "not-so-nice" things he said about bama? He works for you now after all and last week he was trying to tear you down. The thing with Mike Shula taught us that you can be loyal and love your school and all this....but if you can't do your job....it doesn't matter and you gotta go. If Willis does his job and does it right, I honestly could not give a damn if he likes UA. You think Saban loves the University like Shula, if at all? No. Don't care either. If Willis only stays two years, but gets us recruits, he's done his job. Anyway, the assistant coaching jobs are revolving doors, as evidenced by what happened this season. He works for you now after all and last week he was trying to tear you down. it doesn't really matter to me, to be honest. being an assistant coach isn't about loyalty, blah blah blah etc etc. now i can see where in Willis' case you would expect it to be, because he played at AU as well. if he leaves next year, or in two weeks, it doesn't really matter either. i'm not going to pitch a fit because somebody left to take another job that is a better situation for him or his family. you guys are questioning his character in part because of him talking down about Alabama, and now thats a problem since he's working for us. when he was tearing down Alabama last year, that was cool. when he was tearing down Alabama last week, that was cool. thats what coaches do sometimes in recruiting, and thats ok. but now its a huge character issue. his job was to get kids to come to AU. do you think he isn't going to talk a little smack about his school's biggest in-state rival? please.
